Thinking about joining Azura on an Iberian cruise in October'15. Would appreciate any info on availability of ballroom/sequence dancing on board during a 12 night cruise. Thanks.

I agree; Cunard superior for dancing but pending P&O cruise ticked the itinary box. Lovely experience last summer(2013) on board Queen Victoria to the Baltic; band comprised of a mixture of American/Candadian musicians with male vocalist from Detroit (Paul), ballroom dancing each and every evening. Approached vocalist when off stage to request anniversary waltz (our song). He stated that he could 'wing it' as it wasn't on the shedule, rushed back to his cabin to grab his score , returned and fulfilled request which had the desired outcome. Classic example of top notch service.

Hi. Hope you don't mind an observation from the UK? In 2006 we cruised with RCI out of Barcelona around W.Med. The European base for RCI is Southampton,UK where the legal (public) drinking age is a blanket 18years. I think the policy then was North American guests over 18 but under 21 years could enjoy alcohol accompanied by a responsible adult, say, whilst dining.

On board was a large cross- generational N. American group including several members in the 17-20 age -range; presumably with little,if any open social drinking experience. One evening during a show I felt the need to point out to some of the younger ones that I was being blocked from viewing the show. I was met by a tirade of protest both then and later by the young ones who were obviously 'in drink'.

So good one to the parents who show concern for the rules and please keep it private whilst in Europe till the youngsters learn to hold their drink!

Fellow cruisers. Thanks for your replies and much food for thought. The opportunity to enjoy dancing on board is a major factor in choosing a cruise. When learning to dance our teachers taught 'classic' sequence dances together with ballroom/Latin,mainly as locally the dominance is with sequence. So we were obliged to embrace "the Dark Arts" of dance. Certain sequence dances can look good and can be fun to dance which is what general social dancing should surely be all about?

Hi. One month till our Cruise on Aurora to the W.Med. is there ballroom/ sequence dancing on board during the evening; Ideally to live music or recorded CDs as an alterative?:)
