Its our first cruise and our port is Miami. The car rental shuttle will take us to the port. What is the first thing we do and where do we go? What do we do with our luggage? Is there a weight limit with our luggage? Any tips will help. Thank you!

Weight limit question has already been answered. If you are flying in, or returning a rental car to the airport, I'd recommend doing the check in at Carnival's kiosk in the airport...near baggage claim. I'd also purchase Carnival's' shuttle service. They know what to do, and can answer any question you have. Also, its a guarenteed trip to exactly where you need to be.
You will be given a zone card. Upon arrival at the port, you'll be directed to security, like the airport security. Your tagged luggage will be taken for later deposit to your cabin by stewards. After security, you'll be directed to a large waiting area where you wait till your zone is called. You'll board when its called. We actually got to board early...
Make sure you have some clothes in your ship carryon, so that when you do board, you can change into comfy clothes and start to enjoy the time of your life.
By the way, I just got off the Breeze last week...it was our first cruise, as well...absolutely loved it and are planning our next one, hopefully before the end of this year.
Have fun! Enjoy!!

Thanks for all the responses. We are trying to figure out what time to arrange for car service to pick us up to take us to the pier. We also have to factor in the traffic nightmare that is expected due to the Ultra Music Festival.
Use Carnival's transport....not too expensive and well worth the money.

For those of you who did the Southern Caribbean (Grand Turk, La Romana, Curacao & Aruba run) what time did you arrive at the pier?
What time did boarding start for VIP & FTTF?
What time did disembarkation for those who put their luggage out begin?
Just got back from that cruise.
Grand Turk, around 7am
La Romana, DR, around 8:30am
Curacao, around 2pm
Aruba, around 7:30am
We didn't do the FTTF and aren't VIP yet. We arrived at the port waiting room around 11am. I did notice some folks voarding at that time. I'm assuming they were VIP or FTTF. We were allowed to board early...were on by 12 noon.
On debarkation, when you put your luggage out, you are assigned a zone, and you debark when your zone is called . Our zone was 21. Our flight out was late after noon. We went up and had a leisurely breakfast. Our zone was called around 10:30am. We debarked, claimed our luggage, went through customs, transferred to the airport, and got through airport security before 12 noon....which I thought was pretty quick.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't other cruise lines also have stalls with toilet paper dispensers to potentially provide injury?;)
I would think so...

Bad run of luck, for sure. But still no reason to swear off Carnival. Hope you are better, and good fortune smiles upon you!

Thank you for the review. Sorry you were sick, but glad you are better...and glad it was not caused by any food eaten on the Breeze.
I feel your review, while thorough, was tainted (for lack of a better term) by your being sick as there are many, many reviews that are more positive. However, I will say that had I experienced your sickness and had written a review, mine, most likely, would have been "tainted" also.
In any event, it has not deterred me from still being extremely excited about my first cruise, on the Breeze, coming up in March.
Than you again for being thorough.

Depends on the ship.
What line are you sailing on?
Carnival.

I know the rules..no smuggled liquor, and you are allowed to bring on bottle per person on board, plus 12 of your favorite soft drinks. Are you allowed to order a bottle of liquor from room service and keep in your room?

My husband, daughter, MIL, and myself are signed up for Breezing it on March 1!!! Can't come soon enough as MN is in a deep freeze as we speak!

Just booked the same itinerary, on the Breeze, for the 1st of March. Thanks for the review. Looking forward to this one...it'll be our first cruise!

You picked a great ship to start out on!
There are tons of activities and different food options available. As I tell friends who haven't ever cruised: If you are bored on hungry on a cruise ship, it's your fault!
One of my favorite places to eat is the Cucina del Capitano. It's free for lunch, and dinner has a different menu. For an extra $12 per person (and well worth it, in my opinion), you get a fantastic meal. The fried risotto ball appetizer is simply divine!
You may wish to look for your specific roll call, as that way you can set up activites, etc. with people going on your specific cruise.
Have fun!
Many thanks...I found the roll call for this cruise. We're excited. The wife loves to eat...and I do too.

New here, and new to cruising....but an old NC boy...

The wife and I are long time resort people, but wanted to try something different this time...decided on a cruise...our first one, on the Carnival Breeze. We won't be totally lost as we are travelling with another couple who have gone on several cruises.
I've looked through all the tips and tricks...like to be prepared. But wouldn't mind hearing from those who can add more...especially if you have been on the Breeze.
Also, wouldn't mind hearing from those who are about to go on the Breeze...especially if its on March 1 of this year.
Thanks for any help.
Liberty or Breeze?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
We just got off the Breeze...Southern Caribbean cruise. It was our first, so I can't really compare it to the Liberty. I've read some negatives on the Breeze's entertainment, which I have to respectfully disagree with.
We spent most all our nights listening to #Rythumnation, a cover band that played everything from 60's to current day tunes. Each night was a themed night...Woodstock night, MoTown night, etc. We also hit the comedy club....those guys were hilarious.
Just my opinion...
