Previously, there was a lower rate if you purchased internet pre cruise, but that was quite awhile ago. So it is the same price pre cruise or if you wait to purchase on board.
Platinum and Elite receive a 50% discount. If you book for the entire cruise the rate is $15/day so discount is $7.50/day. If you want to book one 24hr session, rate is $20/day and with discount $10/day. This is for a 1 device plan, where you are allowed to use multiple devices, but only one ‘active’ at a time. I know of at least one cruise line, you are limited to the one device you sign up initially, meaning you would not be able to switch between a phone and a tablet or ‘share’ your plan.
Is the 24-hour session really 24 hours? I would like to span 2 days (say noon on day 1 to noon on day 2). Will that work? Thanks.

I'd love to hear who you have on board for enrichment and if they plan to stay on for the December 22 to Hawaii. Also, please report on your mattress 🤞

If anyone decides to try it out and be a guinea pig, please report back with results! 😂

Will be on Crown for Christmas & New Year's, so I appreciate this! Sad news about the mattress, but I'll be ready to ask for it to be flipped.

Not sure, but it was clear it was a gift card. On board GS could see it was refundable, all CS reps could see it too. Just couldn't get the refund approved by anyone with authority.
2 hours ago, Ken the cruiser said:That sticks! Was the $500 (gift card) OBC line item on your shipboard account marked as refundable, meaning there was no designation to the right of it whereas "nonrefundable" would have been listed to the right of the $500 if it had been designated as nonrefundable OBC. I'm sure there was no "nonrefundable" designation listed, but I thought I would ask.

I did not have anything as complex as your situation and Princess messed it up. I had $800 in non refundable credit. At the beginning of the cruise, I added a $500 gift card (which was apparently my mistake). Throughout the cruise, they depleted the refundable credit first, leaving me with non refundable credit at the end of my cruise. Multiple people at guest services on board told me this would be fixed, but it was not. It's been over 4 months and it's has still not been resolved. So good luck.

Thanks for the responses! I don't care if my friend knows what I buy on board 🤣

I have a related question, but involves possible increase of port fees. Our tender port (for which I believe we paid no fees) was cancelled and Princess has substituted a port day. Will they charge passengers any additional fee for the extra port day?

I am traveling with a friend in a shared cabin. Is it possible to have separate accounts for each person/medallion? I would just rather have us each pay our own. I had trouble with my folio on my last cruise and it's still not resolved after 3 months, so I'm a little worried about it for this next cruise.

The aft dining room was where all lunch and breakfasts were held except for reserve class
On the Emerald in July, breakfast and lunch were served in the DaVinci MDR.

I scratch my head on why it took your ship only 4 days to arrive in Hilo, when our cruise on the Sapphire, which starts right after yours finishes, will take 5 cruise days to arrive in Hilo....It's a mystery.....🤔
I think it depends on scheduling needs, not actual distance. On my RT Hawaii-LA, it was 5 days there and 5 days back. On my upcoming RT Hawaii-SF, it's 4 days there, 5.5 days back to Ensenada, then 1 whole day back to SF.

I booked my 16 year old in a cabin by himself since we needed 3 cabins and only had 2 adults. I also could not complete the pre-boarding info until I checked in at the port.
My kids didn't use the app on board, so I can't comment on that. However, it was a bit of a challenge to link their medallions so that I could "track" them on board. Make sure to find and visit the "OceanNow" booth if you want to do this.
On my cruise, I was told that there was no way to limit the kids charges to the account. This is something that you may just have to trust them with. I suppose you could make them return something they bought, but that wouldn't work out with specialty foods or games.

Wow, I bit down on a bread roll in the MDR on my cruise and cracked my molar. It didn't hurt, so I just went home and went to my dentist a week later. I did have to have a crown, but never even thought to file a claim on my travel insurance.

Shows and entertainers on Princess are family friendly.
Not always. I have been to a couple of comedian shows that were not.
-
I am also interested in knowing what shows are currently on and opinions about whether they will stay the same until December. As for family friendly, usually the shows are, but the late comedians could be more for adults.

In regard to 1) I was unfortunate to have one of the terrible saggy mattresses in E631 on Crown in June. When we spoke to our steward about how terribly uncomfortable the mattress was he told us that as there was already a mattress topper on it there was nothing else that could be done. I hope your mattress is better than ours, which was the most uncomfortable mattress we have ever had the misfortune to try to sleep on.
Uh-oh, I'm also in an obstructed OV cabin on Emerald deck 🤨
-
The variation on comments about the mattresses is worrying. I'll be on for 16 days and already have a a touchy back.
-
I was checking prices on my cruise because I got a notice to bid for an upgrade. My cabin has tripled in price since April. I sail in December, over the holidays.
-
I would also like to know the answer to question #1!
I haven't been on the Crown recently, but I read on another thread that it is the Botticelli MDR that is open on embarkation day.

I love that hazelnut bar. You didn't order it? 😮
-
I had the same experience as KarateMom. I booked with my son. Due to scheduling, he couldn't go, so I convinced a friend to come instead. I was able to change Passenger #2. Even though they told me it would be a $50 charge, nothing was billed to my credit card.

Spoke too soon. All supervisors are busy at the moment and can't call me back.

Not sure, since the have so many depts. handling different aspects of accounting. But, they may be able to direct your inquiry to the right dept. It wouldn’t hurt.
Your OBC should come from the ship to accounting.
Good luck. Keep us posted. This number is not for billing or accounting. It just goes to the same place as all calls to Princess. So far, at least the agent is trying to get me to a supervisor.

Just don’t expect fabulous help from the person who answers.
To be sure. The first person I spoke to today couldn't hear me and hung up. The second person told me that the person I spoke to 8 weeks ago didn't submit my request for a refund 😡 Now I have to wait another 6 weeks!

Thank you. I appreciate your effort. I don't have a plan and am not elite, so I'd like to save $20 🙂
