Thanksgiving family cruise on the Anthem and was disappointed in the option (not options) for vegan meals both in MDR and Wndjammer. One appetizer, one main, and one dessert in MDR. The entree for Thanksgiving dinner was a stuffed bell pepper which was also offered earlier in the week. One evening in the Windjammer, after consulting with the chef, he was only able to identify two vegan items - sourdough bread and couscous casserole. It was frustrating to find that the head chef and the dining staff kept confusing vegan with gluten free. There was vegan cheese for pizza at Sorrentos, but only on gluten free crust. We cancelled reservations at Jamie's when the offering for vegans was limited to rice pasta. Pre cruise conversations with Special Needs resulted in assurance that vegans would be accomodated.
A plant based diet is not unusual, and getting wide acceptance. What's your experience on this topic? Is it peculiar to the Anthem?

We learned to add 3 words to each description...."Royal Caribbean Style". Royal Caribbean Style eggplant parm. Royal Caribbean style key lime pie. Royal Caribbean Style chicken korma.

curly4dana, Hello from fellow travelers, Joanna and Tom. This will be our 4th transatlantic, second on the Odyssey. Agree with the previous posts that layering is best. I tend to need more layers than most, and find the Odyssey inside to be chilly. On deck wind might be strong. Temps in our ports will be pleasant, in the 70's. Your plans sound wonderful. We'll see you somewhere on the ship - sailaway, slot pull, majority rules game, 270. ps, We stayed in Delray beach a few times, lovely. Is there still an Elvis show?

Anthem for "We Will Rock You", Wonderland, art, and not a long drive to Port Liberty from Delaware.
I like big ships....

Jimbo, Totally agree. Also, bring old clothes to discard so there's room for your purchases.

North Star entertainment for me is when we are ln port. Not as interesting looking at waves, more to see overlooking a landscape. My frequent rides were sailings on the Anthem, free then, and often there were openings for walkups. For those feeling a bit uneasy about going up, in port you are closer to a trauma center.

Learned this best advice from Cruise Critic - Pack half the clothes and twice the money.

Been to Ireland many times. June can be cool and rainy but on clear days it can be glorious. The sun doesn't set until after nine pm, allowing more daylight to enjoy the shades of green. Please allow me to share this joke - Had a 2 week tour of Ireland and it only rained twice, once for 5 days and again for 6. Seriously, just GO.

Katrina Love on the Anthem, oh she could get us dancing. And something completely different, Richard Rubin at the piano bar.

Haven't had color experience but have thoroughly enjoyed making time to have haircuts in Venice, Barcelona and St Petersburg, Russia. Hand gestures take the place of translations. I wear it short, it grows.

22 years after moving from Pennsylvania to Delaware, a former neighbor recognized me in a very crowded place where one does not usually look at the people nearby. We were each touring Rome and she saw me when we were both in the ladies' room of the Sistine Chapel.

Private 2 day tour with Viator. Just car, driver, guide, self, and husband. Visas handled, pickup and drop off at the port. Itinerary is preplanned but agreeable to adjust - I asked to be taken to a salon for a haircut. Enjoy.

On the Anthem Sept.2017 and Jan. 2018 the activity in 270 was A Royal Mystery. Held on a sea day afternoon late in the cruise it was similar to the Puzzle Break room with a series of clues leading to a solution. A big turnout for each session. No need to have a prearranged team, just show up and be friendly. Someone else will need to join a team, too.

Don't remember which ship, but many passengers had norovirus. The library was closed to prevent spread of germs. Liking my Kindle which is only touched by me.

My DH says that when eating Royal Caribbean food you must always put 3 words after the name of the food, "Royal Caribbean Style".
