  1. Fresh off the Pride! It was my first cruise so I don't have my to comapir it to but it was wonderful! I could do without some of the art that they have around (I understand the human body is art but its a family vacation!) but other than that, it was great! We had wonderful waiters and the entertainment staff was great! The new cruise director, George, is awesome! Can't wait to see her next year!

  2. I just cruised using a TA and I'm thinking that might be the last time. I kept reading about price drops and people getting onboard credit. I finally asked her about it and her response to me was 'my price will always be the lowest so you'll never get OBC'. I loved using a TA and she was very helpful for my first time. If I could find a TA that would help me get the price drops, I'd definitely sign up under them. I have no problem 'hiring' a TA that will help me earn more OBC/save money. It helps me and it helps them.

  3. My kids and I are both suffering from terrible allergies. The sinus drainage has us coughing like crazy! Will they still let us on the ship and them in Camp Carnival? We sail tomorrow!!!

PS-anyone have tips on drying up sinuses?! The kids dr said we will all be better onboard because we won't have the grass/pollen/ragweed around us. But this is so annoying!!

  4. I'm trying to figure out what excursion to do in Freeport. CCL has a Family Beach Escape that sounds really nice but there are no reviews on it. It might be new. Has anyone done it? Adults are $59.99 and kids are $49.99

    Here's the overview:

Fun for the whole family, this exclusive family friendly getaway is designed for kids 5 years and older at this unforrgettable Caribbean beach experience in Freeport.

    Excursion description:

After a short drive from the pier, arrive at a stunning beachfront location where the fun begins! Leave the kids in the safe hands of our expert team as they plan a morning full of fun activities. Children divide into groups and will have fun options such as sand castle competitions, ball games, sand darts, face painting, treasure hunts and other safe beach side activities. Parents may join the kids or relax on the beach with an ice cold cocktail or two on our complimentary beach lounge chairs. Optional water sports are available; rent a kayak or stand up paddle board, snorkel in the clear blue waters or have fun on our giant Ocean trampoline. Browse our local straw market, full of traditional Bahamian arts and crafts. Note: Children 5 and under are free.

  5. This got me thinking about some points that I had built up on my credit card. I looked and they had carnival certificates!

I was reading the terms and conditions and noticed this:

This certificate may not be used to pay for the initial deposit, any government fees, taxes, onboard gratuities, games of chance and or any similar activities as determined by Carnival.

I was calculating how much I would need for my gratuities, excursions, ect and was going to buy that much, plus $100. But reading that, it seems like I can't? :(

Not sure if the Verizion thing has the same limitations

  6. We are sailing on the Pride for our very first cruise. I was looking on Carnival's website and it says:

"Guests are encouraged to limit their checked luggage to two suitcases per person, with each suitcase not to weigh more than 50 pounds (22.68 Kilograms) and not exceed 16"H x 24"W (40.64 cm x 60.96 cm); there are no length restrictions."

How strict do they stick to that and what do they do if its bigger? I bought a new suitcase that is a 29" upright measures 29" H x 17" W x 10.5" D (expands to 12.5" D).

Also, is there a carry-on size limit? I can't seem to find that. I saw other postings about there being airport style x-ray scanners for carry-ons but we've never flown before (and are driving to the port) so I don't know what that is.

  7. We're traveling on the Pride in a few months. I've read about the nude art that's all over the Pride. We're traveling with a 5 and 7 year old. Are they going to be subjected to this every turn of the boat? I'm nervous this will spark discussions I'm not ready to have!

  8. I'm booking my first cruise on the Pride today! I'm excited! It will be the hubs and mine's 10 year anniversary and we're taking our two small children. I'm glad to read that many of you have had a great experience with this ship. I'm looking foward to reading your reviews and the ALl Things Pride thread when I get some more time!

Why is the Pride leaving Baltimore? Will she be back next year?
