Anyone recently in the Yacht Club on the Seaside with any recommendations for excellent waiters.
We'll be there this Saturday (1/25)...
On my first Yacht Club trip on the Divina , Arthur came highly recommended and he turned out to be the
absolute best waiter I have ever had. Had him for three cruises in a row including the Seaside last year but I'm pretty sure
he's the Maitre'D in the main dining room on the Meraviglia now.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I have been in the Yacht Club a number of times out of Miami .... and have always showed up around 10:30 AM, with no problems.
I and a friend sailing in the Yacht Club on the Seaside on February 16th have both been called by our travel agent who told us that
MSC doesn’t want us checking in until 1:30 PM.....
Anyone know what’s up...if anything ??

I was in the Royal Suite a Few weeks ago on the Seaside. You can have pizza delivered to your room every day after 4 PM.

Looks great... we spent two weeks in the Sophia Loren suite on the Divina but this looks a heck of a lot better...
Thanks for the info
Had some really good talks with Captain Massa on the Divina ...heard he’s leaving the seaside in June ...Hope he’s still there for the first week

Glad to share! We booked this early and may not be able to do it again, but it was a very special week and we are really enjoying MSC!
Thank you!

You nailed it with one comment ...
They NEVER return calls !!!
About a month ago I tried to get my Cruise Vacation Specialist ... I know it's absurd but I actually tried calling him twice a day for three weeks leaving a message on his answering machine each time...just to see how long this could take....NEVER returned a call...when he finally picked up the machine no apology or anything like that just the phrase "I'm a very busy man"
This past Monday I called him at 3 PM in the afternoon ...he picked up the phone and said to
me " I am just finishing up with another customer I will call you back within minutes" it's now Friday night ...guess what
I've spent the rest of the week trying to talk with a manager, I have spoken to three customer support personnel . Each one gave me the name of a different manager (Mathew , Nicholas and someone else) that I need to speak with and told me they are all out of the office or in a meeting at the time ...they would send them each a message with my phone number and to call me a soon as possible....GUESS WHAT ??

Thanks for the info....your 1st Daily looks like it's on Sunday the first sea day....was there a show in the theater on Saturday....embarkation day

The priority escorting of Haven guests will occur for about the first one hour to one and 1/2 hours after the gangplanks open...after that Haven guests are on their own...but by then lines are usually negligible

Thanks! I watched YouTube videos as well that confirmed. I can't wait! I digress now...what is the closest bar?

Hop down 3 decks to 8...The bar between Modernos and Cagney's...only thing is that it doesn't open until about 4:30 in the afternoon...

It's all part of the Haven experience, IMO. Any time we had to show a room key for anything, people practically tripped over themselves. I think they (the employees) are told to give VIP treatment to Haven guests. We ate in the MDR one night only because we wanted to see the Burn the Floor dinner show. They assigned a waiter and an assistant to our table, and only our table. It was a little comical, actually.
I have to agree completely with this...been in the Haven about seven times in the last 2 1/2 years and every time you take your card out outside the Haven there is definitely a different attitude ( for the better) from the crew

The Law allows one carton per person unless visiting the US Virgin Islands... most people don't follow this .. just don't be the one that gets picked out for a random check

Yes the escape definitely sells cigarettes but my wife got a slightly better deal in Cozumel

I have been in the Haven about seven times in the last three years but this last increase just rubs me the wrong way so like many of you I have booked several cruises in the Yacht Club on MSCs Divina and Seaside... I did want to try the
Bliss and tried booking several weeks ago but I thought it was a mistake what they were charging for the haven for a typical seven-day Caribbean cruise...Basic Haven penthouse for about $10,000...
I read on another thread about a month ago where someone had a discussion or dinner with the captain of the Divina where he told the guests that MSC is specifically out for Norwegians customers...they are a family owned privately run business out of Switzerland they have no Board of Directors or stockholders to report to like Norwegian....their gross income and profits are incredibly higher than Norwegian they have over 470 container ships that can easily subsidize their cruise ship department.... they brought the Divina over here to test the North American market they had to make some drastic changes after the first year... now they're bringing over the seaside which was built specifically for the North American Miami market...after that Miragvilia is on the way....all I can say is watch out Norwegian

You can bring as many bottles of wine as you desire ...you will be charged a 15 dollar corkage fee per 750 mill bottle ...they can be used wherever you want
-
Happy to be of some help and also very glad to see you have that mindset... i've done seven Haven cruises in the past two years but this gratuity thing just really rubs me the wrong way at this point

If you can afford to stay in a suite you can afford to pay a gratuity.

That is the exact kind of attitude that Norwegian is hoping for ...good luck to you

I didn't believe that gratuity thing but I went on the NCL site and it looks like it's true... did a dummy booking and if you are in the haven they now ask you to choose which perks you want for FREE...then depending on which ones you choose they add the additional gratuity to your charge...this probably just changed in the past week or so ...so if you booked prior to this you won't be charged that additional gratuity amount...now Norwegian is truly nickel and dimeing their best customers

Suites now pay the 18% gratuity on the SDP and UBP, if they purchase the package or get it as a perk.
But the OP just stated a few minutes ago that they confirmed with NCL that Haven guests don't pay the 18% gratuity...if that's true that's a huge change for Haven guests ..hard to believe nobody mentioned it in the past week

This has changed in the last week.
What changed??

Another idea as a haven guest is to go to moderno's and Teppan-Yaki for the experience and for your third meal pick out either La Cucina ...Cagney's or Le Bistro and have your butler bring you the menu tell him what you want and he will serve you a full white table cloth dinner in your room...no extra charge for anything
-
You're already in the Haven and you already are getting the free specialty dining package and Haven guests aren't charged the 18% gratuity ....so why do you think you have to pay that....you aren't charged 18% gratuity when you go to the specialty restaurants....go places like Teppanyaki or Moderno's which are quite a bit different then you will find in the Haven dining experience
