  1. After the price of the cruise, $50 for less waiting, less hassle, and not having to lug around your carry-on's is not that bad. I've been checking nightly for it to open up for 4 weeks for my May cruise and snatched it up when it opened. This is my first cruise so I want every advantage I can squeeze out to make it more enjoyable. This is a consumer driven commodity. If you think it has value, purchase it. If you don't, don't. I prefer to board an hour or two early and eat lunch at a table that isn't surrounded by my luggage...

  2. Total novice. First time cruise is in May on the Pride out of Baltimore to the Bahamas.

First, what actually costs money????????? I've read everything that is available. Beyond the obvious (steak house, chefs table, spa treatments, alchohol, soda), what costs out of pocket? Coffee bar etc. Am a little confused.

Soda card/program--worth it? (not really drinkers)

Tipping-does the pre-paid cover everything? Or are you tipping each and every time (like everytime you order room service). Or to they add a tip to everything you do and you get a bill at the end?

Dining-what is the best option? early/late seating or anytime or is not the way to ask the question.

I will take any real sage advice on the hidden costs of cruising that I should expect. Thanks.

    Bill
