My husband and I are spending 3 weeks in France- 6 nights in Paris, 1 Lyon, 8 day river cruise, 1 night Avignon and 4 nights Nice. Does anyone have any experience with Gate 1 River Cruises, specifically this one? Cruise goes to Macon, Chalon sur Saone, Lyon, Avignon, and Arles. Also, after the cruise we have a private guide for 2 days in Avignon who will take us to places near there but missed on the cruise. Any suggestions for our itinerary will be greatly appreciated. We've been to Paris a couple of times but never to the rest of France. Thanks!

We used Whittman Tours in Prague and were very happy. We recommended this tour company to our friends who visited Prague in December 2013. They were also very happy. Infact, Whittman tours even met them at the airport when they landed and gave them a Jewish tour of Prague, as well as one to Terezin. On our tour of Terezin, our tour guide was a survivor of Terezin. This 95 yr. old man was incredible-telling us his personal stories of the camp and signing his published book for us. We are planning a cruise for July on the Rhone River. It seems that Scenic Cruises offers beautifully appointed riverboats as well as gourmet food, and most importantly, flexable and all encompassing sites and tours. If the price was not a consideration, we would choose this company. However, because Scenic Cruises is pricey, Gate 1 might be a better option for us. Although not as opulent, Gate 1 seems to cover a similiar itinerary.

We would appreciate recommendations/experiences on both these river cruise lines, as well as other Rhone River cruise suggestions, please.
