  1. So on our day in Bruges, we are planning on doing the city on our own, without the ship's tour, and we'd love to experience the canal rides. However, looking online, information about this is scarce when it isn't included in a tour package. Does anyone know:

    1) Where the canal boat rides start and where they end?

    2) The frequency of boats?

    3) If it's possible/necessary to book online in advance, and if so, with whom?

    Thanks!

We were rerouted to Bruges on our cruise last week due to the strike in France. It was probably one of the best ports for us. We did the ship tour 'Bruges on your own' which got you into the city before everything was open. We sat in the main square and had a coffee, enjoying the sun. We then wondered over to the canal area. They boats leave from multiple places and return to the same place you boarded. It is a 30 minute tour. The cost is 8 Euro (I believe) and very worth it! The only tip I can provide for you is to do it right away. We were there at 9:30, after that we noticed quite a long line up. Not sure how fast it moved.

  2. We were there last week. We went down to get a cab to the Titanic Exhibit when another couple approached us and asked if we wanted to share the cab. It was 10 Euro for the four of us. After that we walked a short 15 min. walk into town to wander around and have lunch. We grabbed a cab back as the shuttle offered by princess was a round trip fare and would have cost more. I believe we paid approx. 15 Euro to get back to the ship from Belfast city center.

If you buy your tickets online for the exhibit you will save money. Also if you can get there by 9:30 you can get the early bird rate and save another 5 euro each.

Sorry.. I meant GBP, Not Euro. Getting all my stops mixed up!

  3. About how much is a cab to the titanic experience?

  4. We were just in Belfast last week and did the Titanic Exhibit. We shared a taxi there with another couple. It was a flat rate of 10 Euro for the four of us from the port. After the exhibit (approx. 2 1/2 - 3 hours) we walked a short easy walk (approx. 15 min) into downtown Belfast where we wandered around and had lunch.

From there you can board the ship shuttle back, but it was cheaper for us to take a cab as Princess would have charged us the full return rate of 16.00 usd each for the shuttle.

I noted to myself while we were taking the taxi that I wouldn't have wanted to walk that road back to the ship. I didn't see many sidewalks and it was a very industrial area on a busy road.

Buy your tickets online to save a few dollars as well. We did it the morning we docked and were able to secure an early bird rate if we were there by 9:30. We really enjoyed the exhibit.

  5. Good to hear, thats why i said the cooking shows were south of the border, anyways we just checking you out.:):)

Right... Your south of me, I'm north of you. Too much on the brain lately. It's not working like it should! :) :)

  6. Whats a canuck,is it a Canadian i figure.

    Now do Canadians play tennis.

Do they eat beavers and bears:eek:

Please dont tell me they think mac cheese is a delicacy.

I watch cooking shows and south of the border they do mac cheese lasange, mac cheese and eggs, mac cheese and just about anything,in fact cheese and sugar seem to be a staple diet.

    Yes.

    Of course we do.

    Ewww. No.

    Double Ewww.

Not sure what cooking shows you are watching.. but I can assure you, unless you are a toddler, mac and cheese is not a staple in most Canadians diet!

  7. We are on a 12 day northern Europe cruise in May. Just wondering if you can pre-order these wine packages? Or is this something you have to do onboard? I have had no luck finding anything on the princess web site.

    Thanks :)

  8. We have reserved our beach clam shells as we figured it will be a long day in the sun. Hopefully we will get 2 together as they are a first come first serve basis. But we are wondering if there is a need to reserve a floaty or ocean view sea board, or can we just rent when we are ready to use it. Is there lots of availability?

    Thank you.
