  1. I am worried that we are not going to make it. Our flight is out of Philadelphia Thursday at 12:40 pm, and the forecast is not looking good. We may not be able to get another flight if it is cancelled.

 No negative thinking. Your flight will not be cancelled.

We will be heading for the airport shortly for a little pre-cruise warm up in Ft. Lauderdale.

  2. I have seen 5 pm posted as the time to be onboard the Divina - I think I saw that on the Holy Ship! charter web page (the 3-day charter for electronic music fans that just ended)

    From the MSC FAQs:

Check-in closes one hour before the ship is due to depart, except for American ports where check-in closes 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

Oh, and be sure to check in online at least 48 hours before sailing time otherwise it can slow down your check-in at the ship.

    Hey Peter,

By "check in online" do you mean the registration we did to get our luggage tags or do we have to check in again? I don't remember mention of another check in anywhere else.

    Thanks.

  3. We have been in a similar situation in the past, we have rented a one way rental from downtown Miami with a return to FLL. It certainly wasn't the cheapest option, but it was easy and let us do what we wanted to do with the luggage in the car.

It has been a while, but I belive both Avis and Hertz have locations downtown, and I think Alamo had a free shuttle from the port to their MIA location.

Thanks Peter, Brad. We were going to take a shuttle and I didn't even think about renting a car. I'm such a newbie. The car rental sounds like it would be a much better idea for us. :D

  4. I hate talking about the end of the cruise already but we are flying out of Fort Lauderdale around 5 that evening, which means we would have to lug it around for 5 hours at a minimum. :( Any ideas on what we can do with our luggage for a few hours either in Miami or Fort Lauderdale while we do a little sight seeing or even just getting something to eat? Thanks.

  5. Yeee haaawwww. Some info on country dancing. Got ****kickers?

We're THRILLED to welcome back Country Western DJ and Dance Instructor Ingu Yun to Divina! Ingu will be two-stepping his way through lessons and sessions Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, leading up to our big Country Western Dance Jamboree at the main pool on Thursday, February 20 from 4pm-6pm. See y'all there, cowboys and cowgirls!

  6. It's fixed and online now. I wish they would have opened excursions on a specific time/date; not all of us stayed glued to our computers all weekend to register as soon as we got the email. In addition the system issue hampered the ability for some to book.

    Yaaaayyyyyy. Excursions booked. :o)

  7. Yes, it was surprising how quickly excursions sold out. I turned to the excursion list one day after booking and already a number were sold out. I ended up getting what I wanted (more or less--I was undecided between two tours on St. Maarten and one was sold out, so that made up my mind for me). I did not get an excursion on San Juan because I am tempted to just see the city on my own (I've been there twice before) and I suspect I won't have the option of changing my mind later on.

I hope this does not mean that specialty restaurant reservations and spa reservations will be hard to get or unavailable once on board (I did not want a full spa package, only one or two sessions). I was unable to get Yacht Club because I am not an alumni (which may have been good, because it saved me some money) and now the quick sell-outs of various options is continuing -- not a good sign.

How can you tell that the excursion is sold out? I don't see it on the list or description but when I tried to reserve I get a server error. :(

  8. Good to have on your door or the wall next to the door so people can leave you messages or you can leave messages:

Magnets don't stick to the doors, so bring something sticky. I like 3M Command strips, they come off easily (much like Max's pants):

I think there was an earlier post about the nude beach and the nude sun deck and now Max's pants are coming down again. Any secrets to finding out where the nude sun deck is or do I have to just follow Max around? :D I actually do regularly go nude sunbathing so I would love to find out where that is happening on the ship. Sounds like that will be determined after boarding.

Another newbie question. Someone mentioned an app for the ship that will be available online. Do cel phones work on the ship just for regular calls?

    Thanks again.

  9. Our first cruise was an RSVP cruise in 2005, and Dan is correct, we got spoiled right off the bat! This will now be our 9th RSVP cruise, and we only did one other "regular" cruise (which had a large contingent of Pied Piper cruisers). We skipped two years and suffered from withdrawal!

Yes, we figured we would start with the best. I don't think we'll ever catch up with you. We still have to make an occasional trip to Maui.

  10. Thanks for your work on the m&g and all of the info you've posted here. My partner and I are cruise and RSVP virgins. What times do the tdances happen? We've heard that there will be country western dancing on board. Does anyone know when and where?

    Thanks
