This could mean two things: there is the Chef's Galley area serving burgers at lunch, pizzas in the evening, you just turn up for these, no charge, and it's not so popular that you need to rush or do any particular tactics for it.
There's also the "Alternative Dining" options, on this voyage Bamboo and La Piazza, which is on the side of the Deck 7 just over from the main Kings Court drag. These should be booked, there is a US$25 charge. You can do this in advance via my.cunard.com around 3 weeks from departure - I see no advantage in doing this at that point. Or you can use the myvoyage app style tool that's available to everyone once on board, regardless of whether or not they have paid for internet access. Here's what that looks like:
Alternatively just pop around to the front desk of the Alternative Dining location the night beforehand and put your name down. Or indeed just call them from your stateroom or suite on the provided telephone. They just need the information above plus your stateroom number.
Thank u for the info. I did mean paid specialty. My cruise isn’t until Oct so I will calendar 3 wks out for a reservation.

I just booked Nordlys for my Northern Lights cruise. It's offered every night, so people hoping for Coriander or Bamboo will be disappointed.
How do you book in advance? I haven’t been able to determine this.

Can you please tell me if you can book the Kings Court specialty restaurant in advance? And if not, how do you do so when you board? I would like to go one night.

THANKS! I have the points card but normally use them for Hyatt locations through the Hyatt site - some great pricing there.
Nearby Hyatt Regency is only 18,000 points.
I agree. But sometimes I want a hotel that I am not a member of their loyalty group or an activity that I’d like on points so I use the points directly to purchase.I’m using points for my reykavik hotel, my Oslo hotel, and some activities next month.

Can you explain how you did this. I cannot find a way to do it on the Pan Pacific website.
You go to chase.com or the chase app and then go into ultimate rewards and book. Have to have a chase card that gives u points.

We have stayed there using ultimate rewards points from chase and will be doing so again on our next Vancouver departure. Using points is a great way to not pay the high price!

Lois, that is a great review! Thank you! I didn’t know they gave out participation points (like on Oceania) and we love to do that! Also liked having an early show because we don’t make the late ones either. Also the art classes would be great!

After almost 50 yrs of marriage, I have given up on getting my husband to read. I think he had dyslexia as a kid (maybe still?), and will only read magazine articles (that are short!) loves movies, but I think we saw all the latest on our Oceania TA in April. I guess there will be newer ones by the time we do a SS TA! Leaving on the Silver Moon next week to see if we like the SS regular ship product. Have sailed 2 SS expeditions to date.

Pub lunch
Diner lunch
Lunch and learn with the chef
Special lunches poolside at the grill
Movies are available on demand in your suite, infrequently in the theater
Golf putting
Serenity and developing skill in the art of doing nothing but watching the waves and sipping bubbly
Don’t forget eating cavier, my favorite, but my husband can’t “do nothing”. He goes crazy!

All of the above are available on an SS TA.
Maybe bridge lessons. Table tennis, shuffleboard.
Wine tastings.
Probably all sorts of spa and keepy fitty stuff but I don't do those so I don't know.
Thanks for the feedback. We love TAs but husband needs something to do!

Considering a TA on Silversea, but I would appreciate any feedback from those who have been recently. Hopefully, they have speakers, but what else? I’m used to movies in theater, cooking classes, art classes, and the like.

There is transfer available. $319 for the 2 of us. Found out yesterday.
I just got off the Riviera 4/23 in Trieste. After 2 days in Trieste we took the flixbus from the bus station straight to Marco Polo airport for $48 for 2 people with a seat assignment. Better than the train as it went straight to airport.
there were a lot of complaints about the food quality of this B2b sailing, including my own. O used to have crab claws almost every night in the buffet and in 23 nites we only saw them maybe 3 times. Still had lobster though.

Despite the irritation, we still spent far less for our business class flights than if we had booked the same flights ourselves.
And herein lies the crux of the problem. We all prefer the cheaper air. I am leaving Friday from Miami to Santiago on a direct Latam flight that I requested because flights from tampa or Orlando sucked. I think the price of the tickets were cheaper than the SS business fare I had paid, so I didn’t get charged a deviation fee. (My guess anyway). Then I have a May trip to Europe. After selecting My choice for business class air from SS, I paid an up charge and deviation only to have DL do schedule changes within a week that would not work. Took me 2 months and 3 emails to get a reply. I actually sent a proposed revision to SS so they wouldn’t have to do anything. They finally revised, so I am praying the schedule doesn’t change again! I’m seriously considering just sticking with Oceania and regent from now on!

Can anyone who has been on SS recently tell me if caviar is still freely distributed? Other than an expedition cruise, we will be on our first SS in September on the transpacific.

Have never sailed O before, mainly SilverSea and Seabourn because we like the smaller ships. However there is an itinerary we like that goes around northern Norway and a few Russian stops. We are looking at a PH suite because they are more in line with SS and SB as far as comfort and size. What other amenities do PH suite bring? I knw there are some promotions going on for OBC, excursions or drinks packages, but I assume gratuities are NOT included. TIA.
PS I see an upgrade option to Premium Economy for $199. Is there an option for upgrade to Biz Class?
Love the PH suite size. O provided one way business class on our last transatlantic for a very reasonable upgrade. Cheaper than I could buy elsewhere.

If any of you have used an off port parking garage in Miami, and were pleased, can you pass on your recommendation? Thank you,

Thanks everyone for the feedback. No one remembers how much internet time we get? I was on the Symphony TA in October but can’t remember!!!!!! Old age!!!!!

DL, all the time if the machine is up. 24 hr period or $23 off.
What do you mean, 24 hrs or $23 off? $23 off what?

Question please? As a diamond member, can I get specialty coffees somewhere onboard, and if so, what hours? Lastly, I can’t remember how much internet time we receive. Can anyone remind me?

Thank you both for the sites.

Can someone give me the princess site on this contest? I only thing I find is “infinite sweeps” site which doesn’t seem correct to me

Ok, here's what I've been told..."visas for Qatar will be issued onboard".
Bonnie,
I'm not trying to beat a dead horse, but this reply about the qatar visa is for all of us right? US citizens, aussies and Canadians? I think there are still some concerns on this one

I also sailed the Crown, once while with Royal around SA, and twice with orient on long trips and when they had great land packages pre and post! Our very first Kenyan safari, Nepal and the Taj Mahal! All done thru orient!

I had to insert my 2 cents worth here. We had 3 sky suite bookings for 23 and 24, booked before the reductions, and the major price increases. We sailed the Beyond in November and we did enjoy it. We are on her again in April and then the edge to hawaii in September. I am not making any more future bookings with Celebrity due to these god awful reductions with price increases! I agree with some comments above about Regent. When I compared a 2 week Alaska trip on Regent, Celebrity and others, Regent came out ahead in both benefits and price (so guess what I booked?) We just disembarked the Xmas cruise on the new Grandeur, and it was fabulous! Service and food were top notch! I had a little problem with the brand new bed (they even replaced the mattress for me). It still isn’t my favorite bed (kinda soft) but all else was great!
