  1. My wife, 14 y/o daughter and I are going on our first cruise in May onboard the Carnival Dream. I have read that once we board the cruise ship that we may not have access to our room for a couple of hours and to pack our carry on accordingly. We are planning on each of us packing one bag for the trip. It will be a carry on and we do not plan on checking any bags. My carry on is 21 x 14.5 x 8 inches with a duffle that will be strapped to it with a travel bungee. I can fit all of my things with room to spare and it shows to conform to carry on luggage rules. My question is: what is the procedure for boarding with carry ons and is there really a 2 hour delay to access our cabin? Thanks in advance.

If you do Faster to the Fun which is $50 per cabin not per person you can go to your cabin as soon as you board if not then there is a delay on when you can get in your cabin. It is very hard to maneuver larger carry on luggage around the deck because it is very crowded until they get all the cabins ready.

  2. Hi Fellow Cruisers! We're taking the Carnival Conquest in April and were wondering if someone could enlighten us as to whether the following ports of call are tendered or docked. Cayman Island, Cozumel, Roaton, Belize? My wife has some mobility limitations and we would like to know what to prepare for. Carnival doesn't make this prominent information on their website.

We were on the Dream in Oct. and did all of these stops except Grand Cayman. We tendered in Belize, and docked in Roaton and Cozumel. It has been a few years since we visited GC but the last time we were there we did tender. We will be on the Conquest Feb 16 and 23 so for these same stops, I will try and respond again when we return.

  3. We plan on visiting Chakannab during our Cozumel port stop...DH and I are traveling with his daughter and family who are planning on booking the dolphin encounter through the cruise line...we just want to go to the park, swim, walk around end and are planning on taking a taxi and paying the general admission (thanks to whomever posted the coupon link!!.)

My question is: will it be possible for us to watch them do the dolphin encounter or I are the dolphin activities located in a separate area. Also if we meet them at Chakannab since they are taking a ships excursion, is this a large place and will we have trouble meeting up with other people?

    Thanks,

You can watch them, but they are not close and they will not let you walk out the boardwalk to make pictures as they want you to buy the ones they make that are very expensive. I don't think you will have trouble meeting up with them. We have been several times and enjoy the beach to snorkel

l and there is a small pool. Make sure to get a schedule for the sea lion show it is included in the price for the park.

  4. Which one is better. Would probably swim with the manatees at Chankanaab and snorkel versus doing the Amazing Secret River Excursion. Advice as to which one to choose for a family of 5 with two teenagers and a 9 year old in March?

Have been to Chankanaab several times. Great place to spend the day. They have the beach you can snorkel from as well as a pool. On our last visit in Oct. my daughter and son in law did the manatees and said it was great. They also have a sea lion show that is included in the cost of admission to the park. My husband and I are going to be there in Feb. and will just take a taxi to the park.
