  1. The Jan 21 sailing was much the same

long wait times for your time dining (90 -100 minutes checking in at 5:30 p) Dining room half empty

Wait staff told us a team of 3 now responsible for 2 stations at a time

    Definitely short staffed

difficult to get dining room bar service  ( they no longer have a staff member designed for this)

carnival needs to step it up!

  2. Has anyone booked a hotel using Carnival's Mastercard fun points?

Do they take the points from your account at time of booking? Or at time of check in to hotel?

If you cancel hotel booking ( if hotel has free cancelation) do you lose your points?

I hate to book a hotel 5 months out then need to cancel then lose the points?

Oh, they only serve drinks with flavored candy straws now, which can melt before you are finished drinking the beverage.

Wow! Thank you for that .

My husband has Celiac .Candy straws would be a definite no go!! Will pack our own

  4. Were there in November

There are security guards. You are still approached for drug sales but once you decline they do not come back

Police are usually out front directing traffic so you aren't hassled in front of the club

Walk either way about 20 feet and it's a completely different story

They tell you at the port which is the only taxi/shuttle certified and make sure you take that one back

Although we enjoyed the beach we were hassled so badly when we made the mistake of taking a walk my husband said we are never getting off at Jamaica ports again

  5. Just returned from Cozumel. Alot of port shopping. Taxis are plentiful (you find them at the back of the port)

Very organized. We were booked at Nachi Cocom for the day. Taxi was $17 for 2. We had a private taxi. The beach club is all inclusive for $55 per person. We had 2 beach chairs, a palm tree and a waiter for the day. Also included is a 4 course meal.

They limit the number of customers to 120 per day It there was 50 there I'd be surpised. There was 7 ships in port that day so I was very glad we had booked ahead of time.

Waiter had taxi waiting when we were ready to leave

Very quiet, relaxing beach day. Some water sports available, swim up pool bar and massages

    Nice little gem

  7. Just returned from Gran Cayman. Beautiful country. Feel free to walk around and explore. Boarded a taxi at the port (and yes there is shopping) which took us up to Calico Jacks.(I think it was $7 ea) Very nice beach

Rented 2 chairs and an umbrella for $15. Cocktails at Jacks are $12.50 each. We were told there was a liquor store across the street Folks near us went across the street and came back with ice,a cooler .soda and alcohol

Taxis are readily available for when you want to leave. The ocean water was awesome.

Did not purchase food at Jacks

Did walk around downtown when we returned to port to shop

  8. Just returned from Montego Bay. Nothing is within walking distance of the ship. There is no port shopping. They stress at the port to use the licensed taxi only. Don't ignore the warning!

We used the hop on hop off bus. As soon as the door closed the hustle began.

We dropped people off at Margaritaville, the bus driver popped his head back into the bus and asked if anyone wanted "smoke" Not even off the bus yet!! Went to Doctors Cave Beach. At least they have security. This way only the hustlers they want on the beach are there. All offering "smoke"Made the mistake of walking to Margartiaville (about a 2 min walk from Doctor Caves) We were approached and harassed every 6 inches. " Taxi, smoke, blow " was all I heard They don't take no for an answer.

They follow you haselling the whole way. Only place we were not harassed was in front of the beach club as police officers were directing traffic.

Was never so glad to see the correct bus! My husband is does not get concerned easily but he said we are never stepping foot in this country again.

If you want to disembark in Jamaica take a ship sponsored excursion. Even then you will he haselled for a "tip"
