  1. Hi everyone

My sincere apologies for my ignorance but the suite that we will be in on our next cruise has a IPod music system - so does that mean I have to take my own IPod to dock (which I don't have) or does the music system juts play music on its own? If I need an IPod can anyone suggest a suitable one?

    Many thanks

    :D

  2. Hi everyone

My husband and I are booked on a 12 night cruise to Indonesia from Fremantle in May 2017. My question is regarding the booking of the restaurants once we are on board.

    * Are we able to ring from our room and book the nights we want to go to the Salt Grill, Waterfront, Angelo's etc or do we have to line up somewhere, and if so, where?

    * I noticed from the Editors' review of Pacific Eden that you are restricted as to the number of times you can go to Angelo's and the Dragon Lady. If we want to go to Angelo's twice and not go to Dragon Lady will they allow this?

    Thanks for all your help!:D

  3. Hi

My husband and I are booked on the Indonesia cruise from Fremantle in May 2017 for 12 nights and would really appreciate some advice on the shore tours - any suggestions about the best ones to book and very importantly to us, is there any good snorkelling? Really don't want to schlep our snorkelling gear for no reason!

    Any advice/assistance gratefully received.

    Cheers

    Yvonne

  4. Hi everyone

I would be so very appreciative if someone that has been on the Pacific Eden recently could answer some quick questions regarding suite perks as I only have the Pacific Dawn to compare to -

    1. Suite passengers on Pacific Dawn got room service including breakfast free (excluding drinks and nuts etc). Is that the same for Pacific Eden?

    2. Suite passengers on Pacific Dawn got priority booking for the Waterfront as we booked for 6pm on the first night and the booking remained in place for the rest of the cruise. Is that the same for Pacific Eden and does it include Angelo's?

I am aware that we get priority embarkation, disembarkation, first onto tenders, water in our room but do Pacific Eden also have champagne on arrival, canapés on the formal nights in the room and "Meet the Officers"?

    All help gratefully appreciated.

    Cheers

    Yvonne

  5. Hi everyone

We are booked to cruise on Pacific Dawn for the cruise to Fiji in April 2016 and are counting the days when we fly from Perth to Brisbane to join the ship! We booked on line so have no access to knowing what specific theme nights are in play and would be really appreciative if anyone could advise us as to what is planned so we can pack accordingly? Has anyone been told as to the possible alternative islands we may be visiting if Fiji is not able to receive tourists?

    Many thanks for any advice.

  6. Hi everyone

Thanks so very much for your informative replies. Carnival were confiscating power boards that did not meet their standard of no surge protector. Not sure if they replaced the ones they confiscated with loan power boards for the duration of the cruise, but what a nice gesture by P & O. I played it safe by putting a luggage tag on my board and placing it in the outside suitcase pocket, unlocked.

Just a very quick question regarding the free laundry service offered to suite passengers - does this include pressing/ironing? (I hate ironing with a vengeance!)

    Thanks everyone

    Cheers

    Yvonne:)

  7. Brilliant - thank you so very much for your helpful reply! Just checked the deck plan and we are going to be in the suite next to the one your were in in July! Sounds absolutely fabulous - just a couple of quick questions:

Is it OK to take food and drink back to your cabin and what is the breakfast menu like? I have looked everywhere on the P & O site regarding power boards but still are not sure if you are allowed to bring one onboard? On Carnival my luggage was delayed being delivered to our room as I had a power board in my suitcase. Do you have any suggestions regarding shore tours?

Thanks again for all your much needed hints and advice.

  8. Hi All

Just returned from our first cruise on Carnival and are booked for our first P & O cruise to Fiji April 2015 from Brisbane on the Pacific Dawn and would really appreciate any advice regarding this cruise. We are booked in for a suite (suite number 11115). We are travelling as a couple, no children who love good music, good entertainment, snorkeling, fishing and relaxation.

    Food & Drinks

What is the room service menu like, as Carnival's was sadly lacking?

Can you take food and drink from the buffet back to your room?

Does the breakfast menu change from day to day as Carnival's was predominately egg, beans and bacon?

What free drinks are provided at breakfast, lunch and dinner?

What is the average price of a glass of white wine?

Is there "anytime dining" on the Dawn?

A review of all the restaurants wold be appreciated

    Miscellaneous

Can you take a power board with you - Carnival had to check ours?

How soon after you check in is your luggage delivered to your cabin?

What are the computer packages like?

ANY advice re this cruise would be sincerely appreciated - on shore tours, day to day activities etc, etc, etc!

    MANY thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Hi Everyone

My husband and I are headed for our first cruise on Carnival Spirit in October 2014 for a 8 night cruise to Noumea, Mare and the Isle of Pines. We are curious as to which of the 8 nights they hold their elegant nights so we can plan our dining experience. Grateful for any advice!

    Regards

    :)

  10. You can not drink the spirits you buy on the ship duty free it will be held for you til the last night from memory beer range from $7.50-$8.50 and cocktails $6.95-$10.50 pools were never over crowded when we were on in march last year and had no problem getting a deck chair :)

Sent using the Cruise Critic forums app

    Hi there

Great info. Do you know what is the average price for a wine by glass and price to buy a bottle of wine?

    Cheers

  11. Me again!

I read your post regarding the Airtrain. Hubby and I arrive on the Thursday from Perth and have booked to stay at the Rendezvous Hotel in the Rocks prior to boarding the ship and sailing on Friday. We plan to take a shuttle to the hotel and then we will be travelling back to the airport to leave at 5.30pm the day the Carnival Spirit docks back at Sydney. The Airtrain is sounding like a great idea - how easy is it to use? etc, etc.

    Regards

  12. You do realise that I am printing out all your advice to make sure that I don't forget anything!

Did you try the Nouveau Restaurant?

We truly are so excited - for a 50 and 65 year old this is no small feat! Its just my husband and I in this world and a cruise has been on our bucket list forever.

Is the laundry good to use and please tell me that the Green Terror is not going to terrify me!

    Regards

  13. Hi everyone

Our cruise may be booked for the end of the year but I am sure that this wave of excitement is going to get me through the next few months at work (I am a Mental Health Nurse).

With regard to shore excursions - are you able to obtain local currency on board prior to the excursion or do you have to change monies on the island?

How do you book the Bubbles package?

Can you clothes shop on board and what are the prices like?

    Cheers

  14. This is absolutely brilliant - I am so grateful for people's advice and yes the questions do indeed continue!

We are cruising to Noumea, Isle of Pines and Mare. For two people that are absolutely addicted to the water, my husband and I would appreciate advice as to shore excursions. All we really want to do at the Isle of Pines and Mare is to hit the beach and snorkel. Are we able to disembark and get to a pristine beach to snorkel?

Thanks everyone for not only your patience with my questions but your fabulous answer!

    Cheers and thanks

  15. Wonderful information and just want I was looking for!

Thanks for being so helpful and of course I have endless questions!

Someone has told us to take lanyards to put our cruise and sail cards on - do you think that this is a good idea?

Do Carnival Cruises offer a beverage package? Can't see one in all of their information blurbs. If not, what does the average glass of wine cost/bottle of wine cost?

I note that there is 24 hour wood fired pizza. Is this part of the price or do you pay extra?

We have booked anytime dining so the information regarding deck 3 for the Empire Dining room is priceless information!

You said that you can drop your bags off anytime after 8.30am - is that at the at overseas terminal?

I cannot thank you enough for all your assistance and even better from someone in Perth!

    Cheers!
