A centralized medical record may exist where you live and using your medical providers, but that is not a universal construct here in the USA.  I live in a rural area with a small, independent hospital with it's own medical records system.  Any treatment I get with that hospital or it's employees is stored in their system.  But anything I get done at a different hospital system (in the larger cities 45 or 90 miles away) are not in that same system.  My vaccination was done by an independent pharmacy chain.  They did not do anything to put my vaccination into the local hospital's record system.  I had a visit with my Doctor a month after my 2nd vaccination and he told me there was no record of it in the medical records.  Yes, it is my insurance company's records.  Yes, it is in the pharmacies records.  But the medical professionals do not have access to that data.

It is possible the pharmacy also had to enter my data into a government vaccine tracking database, but I haven't seen proof of that anywhere.  If it exists, I would think it's at the state level and not federal.

However, I hope they have a way to catch fake cards.  I condemn those that try to do this.

Your vaccine was registered in your state vaccine system by whoever gave you the injection. In your case the pharmacy. We are a rural one  physician practice and have access to state records. This is something every office must do if they are giving any kind of vaccine. This includes all vaccines ie MMR, Shingles, Dtap. Etc.

  2. We have ordered this same package on a previous anniversary cruise. The extra money spent was offset by the intent. If you want something that you don’t normally get when you cruise then go for it. If you are sailing in the haven or a suite then you probably won’t get a good return on your money. The butler can set up tea and he or she always brings an afternoon snack.

    1. The breakfast in bed was a different menu than room service. That was nice.

    2. The roses were good quality and lasted the whole 14 day cruise.

    3. The afternoon tea was great. The tray was huge with lots of the normal tea fare. The cream and jam for the scones was delicious.

    4. The extra specialty meal with wine helped with the meal budget.

    5. The massage was short but relaxing. The ever present sales push wasn’t so relaxing. That’s always a buzzkill.

    6. I did get an 8x10 of one of the pictures taken at dinner.

    7. The sparking wine and strawberries are the same as every other cruise we have taken.

    8. The canapés were good after a day on shore while changing for the evening.

The package can’t be ordered less than 5 days from sailing.

We enjoyed our package and would do it again.

  3. Something for you to consider.

We found the airfare home cheaper if we left from Montreal. We took the train from Quebec to Montreal. It was a neat experience as we don’t travel by train very often. As an added bonus the plane from Montreal was much bigger than the puddle jumper we would have taken from Quebec.

However, he verified that it was on my account as a credit that can be used for 24 months.

Are you able and willing to tell us what refunds you got and what they were for, please?

    Thanks

I was referring to the cruise credit for future cruise. I had paid for me and my friend. They gave us the amount of the actual fare. I didn’t get any of the port fees/taxes or service charges back.  She was credited separately to her NCL account.

I did not have any airfare/hotel expenses as we stayed on the ship Saturday night.

My excursions were refunded onboard to my account. I was using cash so I was able to just go to the service desk and get my cash back.

I hope that answers your question.

  5. This happened to my son several years ago just before a spring break cruise. He actually ended with up with three screws being placed in his pinky finger. It was a basketball injury while at school. I’m not saying your son will need surgery tho. His broke on the diagonal and it was the only way.

He simply wore a cast cover. The surgery left him with sutures not a cast but the new cast covers really do a great job keeping everything dry.  Just be sure it’s secure before he gets in any water. My son was able to snorkel briefly without getting any water on his dressing.

    Best wishes.  Happy cruising

  6.  They have said we could stay overnight on the ship.

However, we have had to send our luggage down, exit the ship, pick up our luggage, go through passport control, drop off the luggage with porters then go through security screening and sit In the terminal with boarding numbers to get back in the ship.  It. took two hours.

  7. Quick question. Do you think we will have to exit the ship when we come in to New York then reboard?  I’m on that Epic cruise with all the issues. They have said we could stay overnight on the ship.

I don’t  want to have to do this in New York in November.

This will take lots of patience. Based on my January Epic cruise, the terminal NCL uses in Port Canaveral is outdated and, in my opinion, not equipped to handle a ship the size of Epic.

This was discussed during the meet and greet. Hotel Director said they plan to install the facial recognition kiosks like at the international airports. Of course, there was no time line given.

  9. Forget what I just said. They just announced we will be arrive at 3pm now. Walk off at 3-4pm all other luggage tags being at 430. They will close the on board accounts at 1pm. They did not say anything about staying the night on the ship.

We have been told to have our luggage ready between 1-5pm. They will begin easy walk off at 8-9pm tonight. The last tag color scheduled to be called at 1145 pm. ALL passengers must disembark. On board accounts will close at 5 pm. They have turned the specialty restaurants into MDR for dinner service this evening. Alternatively La Cucina will be an Italian buffet.

Those staying on board must meet in either the Bliss Lounge or Theatre at 10pm. How they plan on getting ppl back on board so quick is still a mystery. Our luggage will be kept in the terminal in a “secured location”. We may bring a carry on back on the ship.

We will be allowed to come and go but must be off the ship by 9 am Sunday morning.

  12. This is crazy. I realize that people have commitments and air tickets  but there is an atrium full of folks waiting to use the free phone or internet that NCL has setup.  Someone just started chanting “money back”.

We have been offered 300$ change fee for air tickets and 100% credit.

I spoke to a few crew members who were supposed to fly home tomorrow at 5pm. They can’t leave on time and I’m sure they want to see their families.

  13. I have not heard a word on board about stopping anywhere or going in late to PC. I did not get invited to any meeting and I’ve been in the atrium for about 4 hours. When I picked up my platinum luggage tag she said they would call yellow tags around 800 am.

I'm not sure is 100% refund.  It may be 100% credit towards a future cruise.  Either way, I would take that deal and run.  You just got a free weeks vacation.

It is a future credit. I misspoke earlier calling it a refund.

  15. I’m the OP. I think NCL is doing the best they can in the situation. I never felt unsafe once. However, if you read some of the things ppl are saying to the media or on twitter you’d think we were sitting in the dark while the band played on.

The ship maintained power the entire time. We just reduced speed to almost stopped while they checked out the engines before deciding to go to San Juan.

Passengers are eating NCLs food. They are definitely taking advantage of their beverage package. They are  hogging deck chairs and spending money in the casino.  Then complaining they are only getting 50% off.

Yeah we skipped a couple of ports. Life is full of disappointments. But we are all still alive.
