  1. First, let's say that I'm hiding around 40 on Anthem December 1st. (Originally was 50, but family members thought they were too cute not to steal some. Lol) For those ppl afraid of norovirus, please ruin your vacay going around wearing rubber gloves, lest the last person who pressed the elevator button was sick. For those worring about plastic waste, don't ever buy any toys. And those worrying about the cruise lines and crew, they have been informed, and they play along. That being said, here you have some of my ducks.

  2. Well, unfortunately, the RCI of "many years ago" is not what we have today ... nowadays things like this are met with blank stares, unreturned phone calls, pretending not to understand due to a language barrier, unavailable supervisors ... or staff just walking off shaking their heads, never to return ...

so, sadly, don't expect a lot of help here from the cruise line staff. its mass market now and we're all just a number.

Sorry, this is going to be my 37th cruise 29th with Royal, ALL with special request food 99.5% of the time I was Very satisfied with the service, 0.05% was ok or bearable. Never went really hungry. Always found something I could eat, and was always accommodated by the dining staff.
  3. Not that I have to defend myself to a total stranger, but I can daven during the chagim and shabbos with the best of them in shul. I belong to a Conservative shul and we don't have a mechitza and women can go up the bima and get an Aliyah. Am I Jewish enough for you????

Let me know if you need an interpretation. I will be glad to supply one.

And, yes it really is considered a minor holiday. I don't make this stuff up and it isn't my own personal opinion.

Quite a few in here also stated it isn't considered a major holiday. According to your assumption, maybe they also aren't Jewish??

If you only knew, how many miracles were seen, and prayers were responded at the light of these lil flames, you wouldn't call it a minor holiday. I know it's a matter of belief. But lemme tell you something: I don't believe because I see, I see BECAUSE I believe.

  4. I'm not Jewish, but was on the Harmony sailing the week before your holiday. I saw the giant menorah on the promenade, not lit, but there.

There didn't seem to be photographers with lines of crowds like you see in front of the xmas tree, but I don't think photos with the menorah are typical???

    It was prominently displayed, though.

Let's not talk about taking pix with the menorah. They were doing pictures with Shrek next to the tree . My husband asked the photographer if he could take a picture next to the menorah. She said no. Then she came back to him and told him maybe wait until I finish with all these people and then I'll do it. Of course the line kept growing, so never happenned.
