I have some of the same questions as you, esp embarkation day, as I am on the first southbound sailing, May 29. We have an active roll call but nobody, that I can remember, has addressed this.

Perhaps one of us could try to answer as soon as we find out. Might not be until we are on the cruise though! Then we'll know for sure;)

In the meantime, I've subscribed to this thread to see if there is a reply from Captian's Club.

I enjoy reading about places before I visit so was excited to see this thread :) I'd tried to start Michener but had some trouble...I'll keep plugging along;) Also plan on reading Sitka by L'Amour and The Letters: A Novel by Luanne Rice and Joseph Monninger. I started The Yiddish Policeman's Union by Michael Chabon which is set in a (very!) fictionalized Sitka...didn't think it would be my type of book but am really enjoying it.

I booked a May 2015 Alaskan cruise back in April through a big box store. Just got off the phone with them and they were able to add the Bev. Pkg. to my existing reservation, no re-booking and was able to keep my OBC (which I noticed they are still offering to new bookings). The price of my cruise had gone up $50 per person which I willingly paid. I also received quick and very friendly service :D, a pleasant surprise. Now I will need to figure out the ins and outs of upgrading to Premium! haha!

This is the first cruise I have ever booked so I really appreciate everyone's advice and sharing of experiences...thank you!
