  1. we arrive at st martin on a Thursday.

    freedom of the seas.

How do i pay for the tour.

I'm not too crazy about the two side trips either, but it does give us some time at orient and not have to worry about transportation around the beaches and airport and back to the ship on time .

  2. I see pedros is in euro's ,I assume they will accept US dollar's too, can you trust their exchange rate there?

I'm not sure we care about seeing the lizards or sea creature things, that sounds like a ripoff, Is it ?

How much of the tour is fun .

I do like the knowledge and comfort that bernards knows the plane times and no worries about making it back to the ship on time.

how much cash do we need to bring for the tour day besides the money for the tour.

which reminds me, how do you pay for the tour when you get there off the ship.

  3. thanks for the replys, I am interested in seeing the island too and orient beach, not sure what the one poster meant by interesting, i think i do,lol. nudity is not a big deal to me.

I want to see more of the island than just the planes but do not want to miss the planes so i don't think i would chance missing a good tour and also take a chance of a taxi making me late when the local tour guide would be better at planning times and travel than me.

sounds like i will book them.

do they offer free drinks on the tour and lunch ?

what is the extra costs for lunch if so.

    How much do we tip?

  4. This question is for all the people who have used Bernard's tours and went to Maho beach to see the planes, In the short time the tour has you there do you get to see many planes land?

This is a once in a lifetime chance here and I would hate to visit the beach and not see a plane land.

Should I take a cab and skip the Bernard tour ?

  5. I just read allot of bad reviews on trip adviser on the Bernard tours and wow now i'm not sure I want to risk booking with them.

We do really want to be under a landing plan but not sure how to plan the day around it and be back to the ship on time, it sounds like there is a huge traffic problem around there.

  6. We are going on a eastern Caribbean cruise first week of april and I have a few questions, I appreciate all the help i can get.

On the ship is it very hard to get lounge chairs for sunning or are they all "saved". any tips?

How about buying drinks on board ,are the drinks of the day a rip off with weak liquor ? I have read alot here on rum runners but I am not sure i want to sneak booze on and have the stress of that or maybe its nothing to worry about I don't know, what is everyone's comments on this subject .

On the private beach cocoa cay ,is it pronounced K or key ?

Should we avoid the straw market there or are they good deals and fun? is it expected to haggle on prices or just pay the price?

Also where is the best beach there, I have heard about a very nice one thats a couple minutes walk from the drop off point that isn't crowded and is beautiful ,any tips?

At St. Thomas where is the best beach and how do we get there and for that matter how do we get to any where once the ship drops us off, whats to do and see there? tips?

same questions for St. Marrten ,Tips ?

I don't want to get set off at the docks and not have a clue of how to get around and go to places, we are 54 yrs old and we don't need a bunch of hiking, worrying, or stress, lol

Please give me any advice you have to make this cruise a once in a lifetime celebration and a memory to cherish, I want to make this a great cruise for my wife.

    thanks.

  8. My wife and I are going on a Caribbean cruise in april, we are early fifty's in age and from the usa, I need a new swim suit, what is proper for a man 55 with a spare tire around the middle, speedo's are comfortable but not accepted much in america but ok everywhere else, I hate long baggie swim shorts, too old for that young style.
