we are supposedly sailing on Viking Gullveig (8th December) from Budapest but looks like its stuck in Amsterdam, not getting any information from Viking so we may have to resort to boarding all Viking boats in Budapest to see which one we are on

Not really looking forward to my up coming river cruise with Viking,

with all the disruption they should at least offer cancelations at no charge

its just greed.

when there is disruption in the Caribbean, Ocean cruises cancel sailings and they have thousands of passengers.

This is a one off river cruise, hopefully it all runs smoothly otherwise i wont be settling for a money off voucher,

which they know many will not be redeemed.

The disruptions are nothing new, but do they still offer free drinks from bar on these days

13 cruises not seen any problems, I always buy a drinks package if it's not included after all I am on holiday and want to enjoy myself and not worry about bills

Let's face it 2 bottles off captain Morgan in the ships duty free are $10 each,

Lucky if I drink a full bottle from the bar during a weeks cruise and I've paid say $300 for the package

We were on the Epic last week, they don't even sell duty free alcohol or cigarettes, but you can buy packs of 20 cigs in the casino

So buy them at airport

We were on the reflection in march and this was already running, smoothies Guinness and Bacardi oak heart are now premium it was so frustrating finding out what I could have since menus only have a few drinks on them and we were not prepared to each pay the upgrade for the odd premium drink

Hey Billybob, I only bumped into the pole once-the first time I woke up in the dark on the ship and I made a mental note ..."don't bump into the pole".

11th March is doable as I have a couple of days off before then but a lot of photos and video still to come. I always take a lot of last minute ship photos on the last day so they will come very soon. I have worked 25 hours over the last two days so am not getting as much computer time as I had hoped.

I got to page 18 and my eyes are sore, set off for Miami at 4am so will catch up when I return.

sailing on MSC Davina on the 4th and jump on the Reflection on the 11th,

to far to travel for a one week cruise

We are in our suite and immediately at home as it is the same as the Silhouette and immaculately prepped by our Room Steward, Boban.

 

 

 

It's starboard this time as opposed to port on the Silly and I didn't take pics of it until the last sea day so for expediency sake I'll use the Silly photos to enhance my silly review/report/ramble/journal. It will be a mirror image.

I have enjoyed the posts since I've booked a romantic Danube on Viking but for December 2018

Then it dawned on me it's going to be sailing in darkness and below freezing temperatures.

Probably need the drinks package and sit In The bar all night, well worth the money

Funny moment was wife went to toilet as I walked into a bar in the middle of a gay meeting, ordered the drinks in a gruff voice but the night was very entertaining & fun. Best was sailing out of Miami late at night on a aft balcony

I had a aft balcony on NCL Jade and would often find bits of breakfast on the balcony

So higher the better just in case you have some idiot above you throwing food over, only for it to be blown back on the balconies below

Yes that is the policy even if one in the cabin is T total

The price of a drinks package is cheap on MSC more than half the price of some cruise company's

Also if you buy up to 6 weeks before the cruise you won't have to pay 18 per cent gratuities

When you get off haggle with the taxi drivers they will all try and get a group to take and make more money

When I went the roads were gridlocked because of a fireworks display so have no idea how long it should take
