  1. When we were on Oasis (the first week of roll out so could be 100% different now), the genie emailed the main contact on the reservation (me) to fill out preferences and the survey. My husband and I filled it out together. I think Matt also had a friend with him when he did it and they just listed "Name 1: Answer, Name 2: Answer,", etc.

After the survey it was a lot easier. My husband had the 'genie chat' on his phone as well as mine so he could make requests as well.

Again, this all could have changed by now, but I think it would be totally doable. Have fun - I really loved star class!

  2. Nice perk, I guess I missed it.

We were on the first week of Oasis star class and while it wasn't advertised, we asked our genie to have breakfast delivered each morning and included our starbucks order. Starbucks was free and waiting for us each morning with breakfast. I'd feel weird about just calling and asking them to deliver starbucks to me, but with breakfast it was nice to not have to get dressed and wait in line :)

  3. Does anyone have any experience with the W Fort Lauderdale since their renovations this past year? The photos look great, but the reviews on trip advisor have caused me to pause. Looking for a few nights for a relaxing time at the pool ahead of our cruise, but some of the reviews indicated its a bit more of a frat party.

Any personal experience at this hotel? We usually stay at the Ritz which is maybe a half mile away, but wanted to try something new!

  4. Question: laundry service....is it same day turn around or next day for Star Class. It will really determine how much a pack

We have the room attendant my husbands shorts after he spilled something in them in the morning, we had them hanging up near our closet by evening turn down.

If you have requests for when you need something back, just let them know, we've gotten things back within 3 hours.

  5. It would be nice if they did it smoother, but hopefully with practice they will make it a bit more seamless and better blended with the masses. The first time we sailed in the RLS it was a bit of the same as what I think you experienced. In all honesty I find it embarrassing but I do like the expedited process.

Below is a quote from our experience and it might remind your's yesterday.

    Embarkation

It went very smooth. When we checked in at the suite area Robert was sent over to greet us and he was our escort, no handler, no that sounds wrong… he was our “guy”. He walked with us through the security process, check in, group photos, muster wrist band for our son and then onto the ship. We arrived at port at noon so we were able to right on board. He was going to take us up to the CL, but we thanked him as we knew where we were going. Truth be told we were also embarrassed as he held his papers in the air, cut into lines and made an ordeal of the fact that we were VIP. Anyone who has met me and our family know that is not who we are. We have since met Robert on other occasions as we are suite cruises and we make a point of saying hello. For recent stay in the RLS we just let him escort us to the gangway door and we were on our way. Thankfully no papers were held in the air during the process this time as he has discovered that we are relaxed cruises and not the ones who need to be status inflated.

There were no papers in the air, but yes it was the same feeling. Cutting elevator lines, etc. Of course I LOVE getting on board faster, but if they could do it a bit more incognito, that would be great. Normally we arrive at the port so early there are no check in lines but as we were asked to show up a little later, there were plenty of people queuing up everywhere.

I think they'll iron it out eventually. We still had to argue with every porter about why they shouldn't take our luggage...

  6. What time was your embarkation? Did you get these looks anywhere else other than while embarking?

Genie requested we board at noon (we were there at 11:35 and onboard in the room by 11:46) They try to stagger the arrival of the rooms they cover. We haven't gotten it since embarkation, except from the folks that remember seeing us cut them in line. Then again we haven't done any of the reserved theater seating yet so I can't speak to that. Embarkation just made me a little uncomfortable since every porter, manager, and employee made a point of star class (in their defense, they were training so they were still explaining to the porters). I've spoken to a few star class guests and the earliest arrival we've seen was 11:30.

  7. Data point: Port Everglades has the Star class waiting area separated from the sea, sky, and pinnacle area. Both are right next to each other.

Also, bottled water is offered in the waiting area.

And if in star class, get ready for some horrible looks.... Like you insulted someone's momma kinda looks. Not from all, but as they kept stopping lines and moving us to the front, some folks were not too happy with us.

  8. Curious..nicoleandchris...was the do not bring list the standard list? I was not able to pull it up from the link

Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app

Yes, it was 100% the same list as posted on the website. Really unsure why we needed to receive it separately. But maybe for those very unaccustomed to royal's rules it might be useful. I think mkbruce posted the pdf of the list we received maybe a page or two ago.

  9. Thanks! Question: is starbucks included or will the genie bring you your drinks with a bill for the drinks?

same with the candy store? and scoops ice cream

Hey - I thought I responded to this earlier, but I guess it didn't take. Starbucks is included as well as cups & scoops. No clue about the candy store yet but we can ask. Vitality smoothies are also included (except for speciality ones and protein shakes)

  10. Thank you! We are just trying to decide between star and sky class. A few requests my 8 year has (yes, I know, high standards at a young age!) :) I am wondering if the concierge can do them or if the genie can.

Do you know if candy from beach candy is included?

    Or starbucks?

Starbucks, yes. Candy Beach, no idea but I'll ask. Cups & Scoops is as well as the smoothies from the vitality cafe (but not the protein or 'speciality' smoothies/shakes).

  11. Florida Keys Cruiser and MKBruce:

Caribbean Tom and I thinking about doing a cocktail hour with us star class suites and putting the in-room cocktails to the test. Let us know if you're interested :D

Here's is Tom's burner email and he has my real email address if you all want to join in: CTBurner@outlook.com

Florida keys, just FYI we're thinking Sunday. We've been emailing not with smitha (well more like she is likely reading this or she is a true Jedi mind master) to put a progressive cocktail hour together. If you use the burner email above, Tom can get you added to the mail list with our real emails if you think you all might be interested.

  12. So less fun than Florida Keys Cruiser's information from yesterday, but I wanted to know about disembarkation so we can arrange our transportation and this is what we got:

"For the debarkation, please note that we have a farewell breakfast between 07:00 am to 08:30 am. I will be escorting you off the ship once you are ready after the breakfast. "

Not sure if she's accounting for the time she'll have to spend literally dragging me off the ship :p

  13. So has anyone else had an issue fining margaret's page this morning? I saw the two updates, but now her page seems to be gone? Wonder if Royal found out and made her remove it?

Which would be a shame because it was the best information we've been able to get as their call centers know literally nothing of the program.

  14. I love this idea. Are you thinking of a progressive cocktail party so we can see all the different suites? I will check with my daughters and their boyfriends (who I am traveling with) tomorrow and see what they think and then I will email you. My vacation starts tomorrow.....woohoo!! We are staying three nights in a condo at Pompano Beach.

    Lisa

Oh progressive sounds fun too! I'm not sure we've figured out the details, perhaps this is where Israel and Smitha may be able to help. I think we all want to tour each other's suites so I am definitely up for that!

Jealous your vaca starts tomorrow! We don't start until Thursday afternoon, I'm counting hours at this point!
