  1. I told my husband about people getting these offers an he didn't believe it to be true. So we were on the Legend 2 weeks ago and he decides to go to Guest Services and ask if they are really doing this and guess what.., they denied it. Said no one gets a free cruise (or port taxes only) offer. They said the only thing they offer is $200 discount after so many cruises. I can't figure out why they would deny that Carnival is making these offers since I am sure there wouldn't be this many people on Cruise Critic talking about it. I guess they don't want to hear the complaints from some of us not getting them, lol!

  2. We did this same cruise May 25-June 1 on the Legend. My husband and son booked a ship excursion for Belize called the Great Barrier Reef Snorkel and Beach Break. They loved it, said the snorkeling was some of the best they have ever done, the beach was nice. It was also not crowded with only 40 people on the excursion. My daughter and I stayed on the boat as Belize is not one of our favorites. This is a good port to book an excursion since many pick you up right at the boat. This was a great cruise, love the Legend!

  3. You really should consider Barclaycard Arrival. We booked a cruise in May, I applied for the Barclaycard Arrival right after and was approved within 24 hours. You get 40,000 bonus for opening the account. I then paid for the cruise using the card. If you redeem your miles within 90 days you can redeem for a 10% statement credit. Bottom line is I got $450 off the price of the cruise! I plan to use it inboard as well so I can get another discount. It's a good deal as long as you keep it paid off.

  4. Victor's people will give you instructions on how to approach the monkeys. There are certain things that provoke them, such as grabbing their tails and trying to pick them up, you are supposed to wait for them to come to you. Yes they will jump on you, rummage your pockets, and love to steal the hat off your head. One of them got really mad at my daughter because she got too close to his little house (it's like a big bird house). It didn't bite her but screeched at her and yanked her hair--she thought it was funny!

  5. We sailed NCL a couple years ago after taking several with Carnival. We were on the Pearl so I don't really know about their newer ships. But I can tell you our experience with the dining... The fee for dining options are all good and there is a big difference from the MDR. We found the MDR food on NCL almost inedible. The buffet is better than Carnival's. Don't remember about the ice cream. We found the service comparable. When it was all said and done, we returned to Carnival because the prices are usually better and we enjoy the MDR. We've never had a bad cruise, including NCL.
