  1. I have a paper certificate (sorry, very old school me) showing my 2 vaccines and booster and  I was wondering if anyone from Wales who has travelled can confirm whether or not this will still be valid for my cruise in October.

I know that the English versions have an expiry date, but there is no expiry date on my Welsh one, so I was wondering if it will be OK.

    Regards,

  2. I register a credit card at embarkation but also take cash with me and just pay off some of the balance during the cruise.   I have heard of some people refusing to register a card at check-in because they want to pay in "real money", but you then have to go to reception and put some cash up front before you can start buying anything on board.  You would then have to keep your account in credit to enable you to keep spending.

  3. You will also need to go to reception to collect your cruise cards for the next cruise.  (Unless they leave them outside your new cabin, as I have seen they are doing now).  They will close and settle off your account for the first cruise to whatever card you registered and open a new account for the second cruise.

  4. I have got a paper certificate showing my vaccines and booster from NHS Wales and nowhere does it give an expiry date.  I rang and requested it at the beginning of March for our (now cancelled) cruise on Arcadia on 17th May.  The person I spoke to asked for my travel date and said nothing about it having expired by then.  So is it no longer valid?

  5. We are due to cruise on Wednesday 12th October.  We are travelling down on the day.  My husband is working on Tuesday 11th and all his holiday is used up for this year, so how is he supposed to get an antigen test?  We live in a remote area with no Lloyds pharmacies within 50 miles, so he can't even nip out in his lunch hour!

Not looking good for us now.

  6. We always self-disembark and leave everything in the cabin while we go for an early breakfast (I think the MDR opens as 6.30?).  Then back to the cabin, freshen up, grab everything and go, well before 8.00am.

Must admit have had problems getting a lift a few times and have had to negotiate the stairs with suitcase, suit carrier and hand luggage each!  Old hands at it now.

  7. We love Gibraltar - so much more than just the high st and ocean village.  On our many stops there apart from the cable car up to the Apes Den we have visited the Great Seige Tunnels, Alameda Gardens, Europa Point with the lighthouse and Hardings Battery, the Moorish Castle, St Michaels Cave, The 100 Ton gun, the small cemetery where a couple of sailors from the Battle of Trafalgar are buried, the Mediterranean Steps (definitely not one for the unfit or faint-hearted!), watched the re-enactment of the ceremony of the Keys (only on Saturdays) and just for fun and because we can, taken pictures of each other standing in the middle of the runway!

We have still yet to visit the WW11 tunnels and O'Haras Battery - they are for our future visits.

And we still get our duty free too.

    We are fans!

  8. We transferred our New Year cruise on the Ventura leaving on 29th December to one in May on Arcadia, on 21st December.  Because we had used some FCC to book the New Year one, that part of the payment was transferred to our cruise later this year in October.

This was all done directly with P&O.  They were extremely helpful.  The cruise in May is shorter so we were able to book a suite - we did lose a little bit of money, but I am very happy with the outcome.

  9. I am due to travel on Ventura on the New Year Cruise departing 29th December to Hamburg and Zeebrugge - I am hoping they do change it to a stay/sea cation as neither OH or I can do the self-isolation until we receive our negative covid results on return due to work commitments.  Haven't even ordered PCR tests, as if this is the requirement we won't be able to go.  Just waiting to see what P&O and the various governments decide!

  10. Hurrah!  At last!  Tried the covid vaccination certificate number again, hoping they might be able to give me a number or email to get my status updated, and got through to someone a bit more 'on the ball'.  On being unable to find my details, she took my full address and managed to locate me, update my details and my certificate should be on it's way.   Maybe the first time I got through to someone who either hadn't been there long or not properly trained.

    Anyway, the relief!

  11. Not having any joy at the moment.  Just tried the number and got a recorded message about cancelling or re-booking appointments  in North Wales, (I am in Mid Wales ),  and saying the booking team cannot respond to questions but giving an email address for a help-desk.  So I will email and hope I get somewhere.

  12. I am having exactly the same issue.  I had my second jab on 4th June and rang the 0300 303 5667 number today to be told they have no record of my vaccinations!  They suggested I contact my GP's surgery, which I did and was told they don't have records on anyone's covid vaccinations - (including my mother's who they checked for me when I told them she has received her certificate).  We both had our jabs at Mass Vaccination Centres.

I don't know where to go now.  I don't travel until the end of July, so just hoping it is sorted by then!

  13. Forgot to mention that I have received a similar generic email from P&O today, quoting my booking reference and stating that my refund request had been processed.   It quoted the full amount in the email - not the amount that I have received.  Think I might try and get through and let them know they still owe me £100.00, as it looks like they think that my claim is all sorted.

    Thanks,

  14. I've been following this thread after the cancellation of our cruise in May - A109 - 3rd May.

We booked this cruise when we were on board Ventura last June, paying £100.00 deposit on my debit card.

I filled in the on-line form for a refund on 8th April and I received a refund to my bank account on 3rd June - but for a £100.00 less than the full amount!  (Was totally shocked when it came through after the amount of time it seems to be taking!)

Do you think that I will be getting back the deposit eventually as well?  Or do you think I should let them know they still owe me?
