Can you put a courtesy hold on a one of these?  Don't remember if you can do courtesy holds on cabins after final payment date has passed

Not sure if you can do holds through the RC website, but if you go through a travel agent, it buys you 24 hours. If I book a cruise after final payment date for a client, it gives me until the next day to get it paid in full.

IS THIS NEW?!?!?!?!?  I've always read that Chef's Table was not included with the UDP.  The idea of losing a day seems a bit much when comparing the overall price of the UDP, but if i can get value for it on the day i don't use it for Chef's table, this changes the game totally!!!

I had never heard it before, either - I think the "Chef's Table is not included" language is designed so you don't think that you get it for free. And it might have been that this is a temporary change due to low demand -- there were only 4 people at our seating.

But yeah. $39.99. I think Chef's Table is amazing for any price, but getting it that cheap is pretty awesome.

  3. When I tested positive on Allure last month, I asked what the blood samples were for. I can't remember about the second but I was told the one was to test for liver function, which I found utterly hilarious given that I was on day 8 of a cruise. They also take a baseline chest x-ray.

I was traveling solo on that cruise but I had made some friends (sailing in other cabins) who were identified as my close contacts. We were on the last day of a B2B, so this might have affected things. They just told my friends to stay in their cabins until the end of the cruise and get tested when they got home. I believe they also gave them free room service and allowed drinks to be delivered to the ones who had the drink package.

Learning more about the red zone the more people seem to be ending up there. No carpet seems very depressing. Like a jail cell. Do they have at least a window?

The rooms are fine. I was just in one two weeks ago. The carpet was removed to make it easier to sanitize the rooms, but the vinyl flooring is just fine. There’s even a kettle and tea in there for you, something they don’t have in the regular cabins.

  5. I’m fully vaxxed and booked on two Odyssey sailings out of Florida in July/August.

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing COVID deniers/anti-vaxxers come down with COVID and be summarily dispatched at the next port. Nothing gives me more joy at this point than watching people refuse to listen to science and sleep in the bed that they made for themselves.

  6. Does anyone know if deposits on Celestyal are refundable? My friend and I are thinking about doing a Greek Islands cruise next summer, but that's a while away and who knows what might change before then. I'd feel a lot better about booking now if I knew I could get my deposit back....

I've tried looking on Celestyal's web site and doing a few Google searches, but haven't had any luck.

Thanks in advance to anyone who might be able to help!

  7. I took a cruise on Vision of the Seas (same class as Enchantment) earlier this month and we opted for an oceanview over a balcony b/c the cost was about $300 less pp. When we got to the ship, I noticed that there were relatively fewer balcony rooms on Vision, and a lot more oceanview ones.

So I would say it's mostly an issue of supply and demand - there just aren't that many balcony rooms on the Vision Class ships, so they tend to sell for higher. FWIW, we enjoyed our oceanview room on Vision immensely, and didn't really miss the balcony too much, even though we usually book a balcony.
