I can't figure out where the karaoke scene was filmed. It looked like the ice rink but there were tables for the audience watching and not the arena seating found on the ships.

We were on Silly in December for the usual 7 night cruise instead of the abbreviated 3 nighter you had. Our 2nd time on the ship.

The ship has Love and Marriage one night @ 10:30.

There are several full bore production shows in the theater, somewhat avaunt garde, which should be looked at. Well done.

The sushi place on deck 5 used to be a crepes restaurant for a $5 charge. I believe it is now an ala carte dining spot.

As previously noted, on RCI the happy hour runs from 5:30 to 8:30 AND you don't have to be in the designated lounge as you do on =X=. 3 free drinks nightly are preloaded on your SeaPass card which can be used at most bars on the ship. But the SkyLounge on S ships offers great views that the enclosed lounges on RCI don't offer.

RCI gives balcony discounts for D and D+, I don't know if =X= offers them.

Enjoying your review. We have not decided on our 2017 travel plans and are considering HOTS and a couple of smaller ships. We have been on Allure and Oasis total of 5 weeks in the past.

RCI ran promotions for years, Diamonds in December. Extra point for cruises sailed in December. We did several holiday 14 night cruises out of NY on the Ex. 3 points each.

What terminal is the Silhouette using at PE? We will be on it on Dec 11.

Bring a big zoom for your camera. The SOL will be on the port side while docked and you can get a decent shot while at the pier.

As others have said, the only reason this ship was transferred from Pullmantur (RCCL's Spanish subsidiary) back to the main US company was to service the Cuban market, where only a smaller ship could get into the harbor. The trend lately is that RCI has been missing deadlines on renovating or even finishing a new ship, look at the first couple of weeks sailing on Harmony or the month's delay on the Empress.

This is on the head office in Miami.

We were at Orient on Jan 21. off the Allure. The new stores are all complete, with wooden planking in front. There are several stairways down to the beach level from the raised store level. No sign that any of them have been leased out yet.

Just off the Allure (Eastern route). She was jiggling quite a bit during the week, more so then on our 5 previous cruises on this class.

Spain is right behind Greece in going over a fiscal cliff. Pullmantur must be having severe problems to transfer 2 ships back to RCI.

It's always bad getting off a TA from Europe. We had these issues at Miami and Port Everglades.

Patti explained it all and she knows more then the rest of us.

The light in this section with all the haze, made it difficult to get really sharp pictures.

This tree fell across the walking path and gives a close up of how big they are. We were instructed to never leave the path.

There were several carved wooden bears.

Today dawned all foggy and overcast, I guess typical weather for the city. We had a combo tour booked thru the ship, Muir Woods and Sausalito. We chose the early trip to leave time to see the city in the afternoon after the bus left us off at the ship.

The bus headed over the fabled Golden Gate Bridge and we were off.

Eventually after winding thru the hilly roads we arrived at the Muir Woods, home of the large redwoods.

We had 90 minutes to tour the facility on our own.

That night we hit the Centrum in the middle of what looked like Battle of the Sexes led by a very unusual well endowed "female"

After this unusual hug we made our way up to our cabin where we found we had a visitor.

Eventually we turned in ready for our first visit to San Francisco.

That's my wifes usual boarding day shirt too :D

We got them at Kohls when they were being closed out. Hard to find my XXL size; she went to 3 stores in NJ and NY.

After the Concert we headed out of the lounge area, to look for other activities.

This corridor is very nautical in feel.

We had seen a group of people getting on in Vancouver all carrying musical instrument cases. The were a bunch of amateur and semi pro musicians who were giving a concert in the Safari lounge so we hung around for that.
