  1. What are some decent hotels nearer the Tampa port? Doesn't have to be right on top of it of course since we have most of the morning to get there. Somewhere that has breakfast and we don't have to worry about our car in the parking lot. :D

  2. The poolside grill is pretty good, burgers, hotdogs, chicken fingers, fries, etc, right next to each grill station is a soft serve ice cream/frozen yogurt station.

They showed movies in the comedy club one night there was no comedians halfway thru the cruise.

They made milkshakes at the coffee bar, and they were really good!

    Awesome thanks!

  3. The burgers are really good, along with fries. You can get milk shakes at thr coffee bar. The Miracles decor to say the least is quite different than other ships.

Milkshakes at the coffee bar eh? I can deal with that. How is the décor different if you don't mind me asking?

  4. I read that the Miracle doesn't have a Guy's Burger but they do have yummy burgers near the pool somewhere so I guess if they are yummy that's ok. I assume you get fries with that :p

I also read there are no dive-in movies. Disappointing for sure but I also read that they do show movies in one of the clubs some nights? I suppose that would be ok. Maybe softer seating too.

What I haven't seen yet is info on soft serve yogurt/ice cream like we have had on other ships. Is that a self-serve set up like we have seen?

What about milkshakes? Can we even buy those anywhere on board?

    Thanks y'all!

  5. My wife and I are seriously considering trying out The Oasis of the Seas for our next cruising adventure. A really huge ship with open areas and so much to do looks very appealing to us.

But we need some advice from those of you who have been there / done that. We want a balcony for sure. A suite is probably too expensive for us. Outside balcony would be fine but an inside balcony would be something very new. From videos we have seen, overlooking the boardwalk and perhaps able to see the diving show area would be cool.

Only thing that worries us is that in the videos it seems very noisy on the inside. Is that just the videos picking up extra sound or is it really noisy? On the outside the main noise would just be the ocean waves so there's that to consider. And if it is noisy on the inside are those doors really soundproof?

Do any of you have a specific favorite cabin number (and why)?

Thanks much for your help! :)

  6. Doing a quick search I saw very little about this except unanswered questions. Anyone done this? Opinions or comments about it?

I noticed in the description they say "Receive an orientation before boarding the chairlift". Orientation? How about sit and stay? Maybe I am missing something. ;p

  7. We are planning our next cruise. I have been making my own nerdy spreadsheet comparing cruises in October. Help me to understand something.

Comparing 2 cruises out of Port Canaveral, FL. Both close to the same cost, both get pretty good ratings from here and another site I look on from time to time.

So for essentially the same cost I can do 7 nights on the Carnival Valor or 3 nights on the Disney Dream. I am stunned. 7 nights vs 3!

Why? How in the world are they the same cost? (Outside room $569.00 Carnival vs. $651.00 Disney)

I am about ready to try a Disney cruise but the difference is so immense I just can't wrap my brain around it.

  8. I read that on the Fantasy you get no control over your room environment and many complain that the rooms are too hot. You can count us out of ever going on that ship if this is true. Not a chance!

We are looking at a cruise on the Pride though. Please tell me this is not the case on the Pride. Is it?

  9. I dislike having to worry at a show that someone is going to try to drag me up on stage for something. I want to go to a show and watch a show.

On our first cruise on Carnival the dreaded scenario played out but luckily it wasn't me. On our second cruise on RC this didn't happen and I was glad about that. I have less than zero desire to interact and/or be part of the show.

Was I just lucky on RC or is that sort of thing more common on one cruise line or another and uncommon on others?

    Thanks cruising experts! :)
