I am originally from Ohio, but have lived in Atlanta for 22 years now. In what part of Atlanta did you grow up? I live just up from Virginia Highlands on the edge of Morningside. I walk to Virginia Highlands and Cheshire Bridge all the time. Love my city.

I was born at Emory University when we lived in East Point. Later we moved to Mableton. Then out to Douglasviille. Been down in Tampa about 25 years now and truly love my city too.

Yes and no. I am traveling alone in my room, but I have a best friend and her family that will be on the cruise. That is why I booked it last minute to join them and get away for the holiday. I'm sure there will be some FOD on the ship to hang out with.

I'm sure there will be more FODs I chatted with a couple of guys on the roll call page. It will be their first cruise. I take it you are in Atlanta? I was born and raised in Atlanta.:)

I can not agree stronger with the op. The larger ships lose the romance of cruising. The DOWNTON ABBYish appeal.

Now the larger ships would be great for the longer cruises say trans Atlantic with no or very few ports.

We booked Anthem for a 12 day cruise for this reason. Unfortunately there was norovirus on the ship and all was shut down for most of the cruise and we had to come back 2 days early for bad weather.

 

Anyway I prefer no larger than Freedom.

I'm with you. Oasis class is to big for my taste. I felt like I was in a shopping mall not a cruise ship. I could not feel the motion of the ocean at all. I will always be loyal to Royal but will only book Freedom class or smaller.

The same. Nothing planned. We don't usually do a lot of excursions. We mostly find a nice beach or bar, or both. I love to swim in the sea as much as possible.

Hi everyone, two guys in Tampa here. We will be cruising on Royal Caribbean Freedom of the seas on November 15th, 2015. Anyone joining us?

No we have not booked any shore excursions. We may book one onboard, not sure. In port we usually just go shopping, find a nice restaurant, or just head to the nearest beach. We leave two weeks from today. Yeah. See you soon.

I am so ready to be on Vision of the Seas! The other day, I was looking at cabins and categories and realized that our cabin is on deck four directly under the casino. I am a heave sleeper but my partner does not sleep so deeply. I called RCI and they seem to have a lot of cabins still available. I wonder if the cruise will be booked full?

This is my 16th cruise, but my first on Carnival. Traveling with my best friend on her 40th birthday cruise.

Going on my first Carnival cruise. Can't wait. Who else is going?:)

Last sailed on Vision back in 2008. Looking forward to seeing her after her refit.
