  1. This was my first time on the star so I’m not positive about the state rooms but they seemed refreshed. Plenty of outlets and a couple usb charging spots on the sconces beside the bed. We had a newer looking tv and lights. But the couch was definitely old as well as the art. I don’t think there were new restaurants but the captain stayed that all the restaurants and bars had been refurbed. And the ones I went in looked nice.

  2. How busy and noisy was the Spice h2o area? I’m sailing in 4 weeks time, the cruise seems pretty full, nothing above balcony cabins available. The pictures I’ve seen of your 24 May cruise look very quiet, although they could have been taken on a port day/ early mornings etc.

If you used the spa - how comfy are those new tiled loungers? They look very oddly shaped, as if you can’t lay there and look out of the windows.

    Thanks.

Spice h2o area was still being completed I never saw it opened up. Looked nice from what I could see though. Never went into the spa. Our cruise was actually completely full. On sea days the pool deck was a mad house. Get up early to find a place to enjoy the day!

Do you remember what the name of the coffee pots were? I might buy some of those little pod coffee, but I'm not sure if the pods are universal?

I was told the balcony cabins use the soft pods(the round single use filters) and the suits and haven cabins use hard pods (k-cups)

  4. I did a similar cruise on carnival several yrs ago and the only ship sponsored excursion I did was out of Dominica. We did a river tubing with a lunch. Beautiful rainforest. Great tour guides. But the only reason we did it was because when we got off the boat to just do our own thing like we did at all the other ports we were harassed and quickly realized there was going to be no escaping it.

  5. I took this cruise a couple years ago and disembarked at Le Havre. We hired a taxi from Paris to pick us up at the port since train service from there was going to take to long to get to the city. We shared the taxi with 2 other couples. It cost about 150euros per couple. We found the other couples using the roll call for our cruise.
