  1. Decent for those needing 8 weeks to plan ahead is Getaway

    12/8-13 NOLA , Studio with drinks $66/day.  $329/5 days.

Don't forget the $20/day drink tips are added.

    I'm considering B2B with Getaway 9 day 12/13-22. I like long

cruises, would only do a 5 day with a B2B.

Also, no CruiseNext with 5 day. But, if you are already paying

to be at the cruise terminal for one cruise, there is significant

time and $ savings to combine for a B2B.

  2. As we know, the early cruises to AK can be cheap. Solo prices, Sail Away.

    NCL Jewel, 7 day Vancouver-AK 5/20 $449

                         7 day AK-Vancouver 5/27 $524

Can apply 1 CruiseNext to each.  So net cost $723 + port fees & taxes & tips for 14 days in AK.

    Less than $99/day total.

I bought a little early, but they did bump me to OV for  the Inside price.

In 2016, I was bumped into a balcony for Inside $.

  3. Lyannea, I do not know the answer to your first two questions. As for where I am looking, I have found two

    places on CC to check.

The first is the RollCall for the trip you are interested in. I missed a group deal last Dec because I bought before reading the RC.

The 2nd was CC under NCL, " What exactly are the perks with group booking?"

I have seen TA's offer group deals, but only last minute. Others here might know more.

I don't use much social media. Thus my request for help.

I am willing to help if anyone has a good idea.

Again, my main interest is a long cruise Ap/May. 2020 I hope to get the Jewel Ap 30-

May 25. I think it will get cheap in Mar/Ap.

My other interests are TA in spring, and 7+ day cruises out of Fla and NOLA in Dec-Feb, when they get cheap. But not Panama Canal cruises. Been there. Each passenger pays ~ $250 for the PC experience. Once was enough for me, thank you.

I prefer to avoid really long plane flights.

  4. I just found an example of a possible 25 day B2B2B 2020  NCL that I predict will be a good buy. Ap 30-5/11 Honolulu to Vancouver, followed by the 1st of the season N, S, cruise to Alaska.

The relocation HI to Vancouver 11 day will be a hard sell. And the early / mid May Alaska 7 day N, 7 day S are always well discounted. SWA will soon fly to HI.  Ship is the Jewel. May is the lowest chance of rain in AK.

Good weather, a few cool days. Ports not too crowded. Alaska is beautiful, and they treat tourist great.

Now, if I could just arrange a group buy....

  5. My fellow solos, I could use your help looking for two types of deals.

No time limit, so until 2025 is good. I try for 2 cruises/yr.

Prefer spring, winter, fall, summer, in order. Prefer NCL, others OK if cost OK.

The first is a long cruise, at least three weeks, longer is better. Ok to

change ships once during a long trip.  My longest was 34 days.

The 2nd deal is to join a group buy with great zero cost add-ons.

The rules for group buys are not bad. The Group can be any gathering

of people who say " I am in that group". Financial stuff is all direct with the

cruise company, so no scam possibility.

If you are cruising with friends or family, getting three or more rooms, just post

on CC looking for enough other cruisers to qualify as a group. It is a great deal.

You can still use Cruise Next on NCL.

I'll toss one out now, that I expect to be on. 12/14/19 NCL Breakaway, 7 day, Pt Canaveral.

Current  price $540pp (2/rm). That is a slow selling week for the cruise business.

I just bought NCL Jewel 5/20 & 27 Alaska. OK, not great price. $1098 after 2 CruiseNext.

Alaska rarely gets super cheap, and I really wanted a 2 week. 3rd week I'm driving the PCH

    to SF to see friends.

  6. For those who like 14 day solo Alaska cruises...O K two 7 day B2B.

6 weeks out, so enough time to buy air tickets.

    5* Celebrity Millennium 5/10. Vancouver to Anchorage $ 718

                                             5/17 Southbound  $ 562

    Same ship 5/24 & 5/31 add $70.

Unusual to see Celebrity lower priced than NCL.

Good morning everyone.  I am interested in cruising solo after the passing of my husband. We both loved cruising, I recently retired, and now I need to find some deals.  I do not have a partner to travel with, however, I want to continue to cruise.  Can you offer me some advise on how to find these solo deals, etc.

Welcome cmeyersmgr.  You can learn a lot just skimming this site back a year or two. The cruisers here are very helpful.  As for solo deals,  they seem to getting shorter lead time notice, sometimes just days. OK for you cruising from Florida, not so good for an Alaska cruise.

NCL is popular with solos, both for deals and treatment on board. Hosted solo events, meals, and meet ups.

I'm still friends with solos I have met there. A good way to start a cruise, meeting fellow solo cruisers.

Some cruise dates are easier to get deals. From Fl and NOLA, late Nov until 12/24, and Jan 3- Feb. Alaska in May & Sept.

TA's east in spring, west in the fall.  Many relocation cruises.

I had a nice week in Riverview, with many great seafood meals.

    Norwegian Jewel ... 15 Day TransPacific .... May 5 - 20, 2019

    Tokyo to Vancouver

    Solo Inside Guarantee $899 plus port/taxes $306

I was deep into planning this cruise plus the week before visiting family ~ an hour from the port.

My airmiles go to NRT, not HND.  Then I got a note from Japan.

4/ 29-5/5 is Golden Week, many , many locals off work using all public transportation and roads.

Really bad travel time in Japan.  The local military base advises stay near home. And this year looks worse than usual. I decided to not go. Maybe Vancouver to Japan in Sept.

  9. Solo inside ~ 1080/week, minus CN ~ 950/wk.

    Better for couples than solos.

$200/pp/ wk port fees & taxes.

    Group deal deletes tips.

Last minute deals are better...but not a sure thing.

Solo deals to AK rarely drop much below $100/day, plus

    taxes, fees, & tips.

Add in the UBP, this is an ok deal.

    I've paid less...with 3 days notice.

  10. I propose that we share all benefits, which will get us UBP and all

    tips covered ( ~ $32/day ) , plus ~$50-100 OBC / person. I have two solos going now.

We need twelve more people to reach the minimum 7 cabins and 14 people.

I did the NCL Sun Alaska B2B  May 2016. Really enjoyed it.  Did 10 and 9 day May

Alaska in 2014 & 15. The 14 day is the way to go. May in Alaska is nearly perfect

weather, cool and dry. Do bring a jacket.

Very few school age passengers in May.

Where else should I post this ? Couples are welcome also.

Once we have enough interest, I'll set it up with NCL.

Then each person deals directly with NCL for payment.

    Can apply CruiseNext.

  11. NCL Epic from Port Canaveral ... 10 nights to the Western Caribbean ... December 5 thru 15

Studio Cabin with ONE FREE CHOICE

    $779 plus port/taxes

Good work, HW. I paid $499 / 7 day the week before Xmas 2017 for this package. Very last minute.

This may drop to ~ $699. I am going to buy now, as I really want this cruise.

I have to be in Orlando 12/17-25, so this is a low cost add on.

  12. Again, I am considering the Divina 20 day 3/14. What to do now that I'm in Europe? What else, a cruise.

ETA Genoa 4/3. Stay one night on land, catch MSC Sinfonia 4/4 for an 11 day Med tour.

Solo inside $1154. RT Genoa. Now it is 4/15. I would have had 31 cruising days, base cost

    $2632 -5%= $2500. And I can buy a OW flight home when I see a deal.

I like long trips. I would even consider adding a Baltic cruise to this. Any suggestions?

  13. If anyone sees a SS drop on NCL Pearl 5/8, NOLA to Seattle, 21 day, please let me know. It fits my schedule well. I just refuse to pay double. I can do short notice.

About the low or no SS on Alaska cruises, I have had good luck 3 times.

    2014 & 2015 caught the 1st of season "odd duration"of 9 & 10 day, for ~ $99/day base. Check 2018 NCL Jewel 5/26, 9 day.

2016, with 4 or 5 days notice, caught NCL Sun B2B 14 day for 2/3 of that. Lucky I was in Seattle.

Had a cruise with Budget Queen 2016. She was very helpful. Still is. I think she has done well over 100 cruises. Knows a bunch about cruising.

  14. Norwegian Jewel 10-night Alaska sailing (Seattle/Vancouver) Sept 23. Inside is $1378 + $244 tax + $140 gratuities.

Not cheap cheap but Alaska for 10 nights: Seattle, Ketchikan, Sawyer Glacier, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, Icy Strait Point, Sitka, Prince Rupert, Vancouver.

I have been watching this price daily, dreaming it might drop a little more.

Also the next 10 day Jewel, Vancouver to Honolulu, which returned to $1298

today after several days at $1598. Taxes & port fees $208.

I would take either or both at a more fair SS. I'll be in Seattle, so I can do last minute.

Last June was my best deal ever, with 4 days notice. B2B Vancouver/Alaska,

on the Sun 14 days, $798. And they gave me OV north, balcony south.

My next NCL is my 1st as a Platinum.
