  1. For the record, I can, and do drink quite a bit when having fun. On all of my pre-Cheers cruises, I would be very cost conscious for EACH drink. I would stare at a drink menu and think "Is this drink going to be good, would I like it enough to justify the cost? Do I really want it?" I would also get the less expensive wine with dinner, if I got any. This over-analyzing took a lot of fun away.

Last cruise, we tried out Cheers and because the money was already spent, I didn't second guess anything, and if I didn't like a drink, no biggy, just get another. So of course I drank more than otherwise but I drank what I wanted and got my money's worth (in my opinion). In a way, it is kind of comparing apples to oranges, but it is a psychological barrier for me at least. Not for everybody, but it is good for me :)

I love your explanation, thank you! I overanalyze decisions daily at my job, and that's one of the last things I want to do on vacation.

  2. We did the Supreme Snorkel Trip with White Sands in Grand Turk and enjoyed it. We got to snorkel a reef, the wall, dive for conch and see the sting rays at Gibbs Cay. They even made fresh conch salad from the conch we got and we kept the shell as a souvenir.

Any "creative"suggestions ...of how to get the shell back in the ship. Allegedly it's not allowed...[emoji17]

  3. Yes, you can add gift cards at sign in at the port. However, I bought cruise cash with my gift cards so I did not have a longer check in. I have a few more gift cards that I will add at a kiosk one day during the cruise.
I'm trying to avoid the hassle and tying up lines. So is my best option to buy cruise cash with my carnival gift cards prior to sailing?

I'm a bit confused from previous posts, am i limited in how much cruise cash I can purchase?

If I don't spend all the cruise cash, can I cash out in the casino like I typically do with my gift cards applied to my account?

  4. It appears you can only earn 5000 points per day. By signing up for email newsletters you can easily earn >1000 points ...per newsletter. When I called. I was told you can earn more or faster if you become a paid member approx $12, depending on which membership you choose.

  5. So, if you could choose only one location of the below mentioned cruise ports to snorkel, where would you choose and why?

Bonus points for recommending a non cruise ship sponsored excursion[emoji6]

We're cruising eastern Caribbean to St. Thomas, USV, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Grand Turk, and Amber Cove, DR.

    Thanks in advance!

  6. I read that the BlueIguana Cantina serves breakfast....

    1. What are the hours?

    2. Do they serve corn tortillas?

    Leaving in 27 days....super excited!

The Blue Iguana breakfast burritos are the best I've ever had! My only complaint is it's not hot by time I add all the the wonderful things such as sour cream, guacamole, salsa. Etc.

  7. Could anyone advise me of a great ship location and/or deck that would be nice to enjoy a drink with my family just prior and after muster drill on the Carnival Breeze? Preferable near a bar but not required. I've sailed her twice before , and have always wanted to wave and say goodbye to complete strangers :D. Don't get me started on my desire to watch pier runners... I imagine they're more rare on sail away compared to leaving port?

  8. My 77 year old mom just broke her ankle in 3 places 2 days ago. She will need surgery next week Wednesday to get plates and screws to repair it.

We are going on an Alaskan cruise on 8/21 so now I have to figure out the mobility issues she will have. It will be me, mom and my 12 year old dd going.

Dr. says she cant even step on that foot until 8/20 or so. We are flying in and not sure what to do about a wheelchair/knee scooter etc?

Anyone have any good ideas about handling her mobility needs getting on the cruise and during the cruise? What about excursions, are they accessible? Does it say anywhere which ones are?

Thanks in advance for any advice...this has been a bucket list cruise that we have been planning since jan 2017...there is no way she isn't going :)

I did the same thing in 2017 3 weeks prior to my cruise. Plates, screws, a boot, and non weight bearing. The scooter was a godsend.

Something to consider.. accessibility in your room..I had to hop up on one foot to get into the bathroom. I was early 40's and determined.. so no problem.. best of luck to your mother..

  9. I had a broken foot on a cruise with the same itinerary. Stayed on the ship in Grand Cayman but used a ship's wheelchair to get off in Cozumel. Ship personnel helped my hubby get it off the gangway and back on without a problem. Roatan should be the same...so at least you can get off and enjoy the surrounding area! With your attitude you should have a great cruise!

Thank you, that's what I was thinking . Glass half full. I'm just a bit concerned over getting on and off, crowds, and sometimes people are not pleasant.

  10. I would suggest ordering a scooter for you while your on the boat this way you can get yourself around. We did it for our daughter in December and it cost less than $200. I don't recall the number off hand but if you call carnival they can give you the information for it.

I have a knee scooter, I'm fairly young and in good health, I was thinking that would be enough...I would like my crutches too, but who is going to hall all this stuff, lol.......

  11. Does anyone have any experience of how embarkation, ports, and debarkation go? Just need to know a little of what to expect......

Sadly I slid down my steps and broke my leg last night. And NO I don't have travel insurance, and I WILL be going on vacation. It's our 25th wedding anniversary on April 4th....

Surgery went well, metal plate and screws are in place, and I have a knee scooter and crutches. No weight bearing for at least 4 weeks. This will stress my husband out more than me I'm afraid....

  12. Most liquor stores in the US do carry it as it is a fairly popular beer. Carnival carries it but in very limited quantities and not at every bar. I found it at the red frog pool bar on the Pride, and the red frog pub had some similar carribean beer choices as well.

Thank you so much, I'll try the pool bar....
