  1. Daisyh, can you please come back and let us know how your excursion went? We are currently booked on the RCI excursion, but I agree with you about 4 1/2 hours is not enough time! I'm giving some seroius thought to switching.

We just returned from our Cruise on the Oasis and had a great time in Jamaica at the Royalton White Sands/Blue Waters Resorts. They dropped us off at the White Sands and we never ventured over to Blue Waters. We had a palapa on the very relaxing beach. It was our favorite beach of the trip. The resort was nice and the bar service was great. My only complaint was the daiquiris were made with just syrup and were very sweet. The jerk chicken was great and the pizza was so so. We wished we had gone to the buffet. Even though we had a great day, we probably would choose a different resort next time to experience something new.

  2. We went to Paradise Beach on our last trip to Cozumel. We enjoyed the facilities and the food and service was good. We love being able to walk out into the ocean, and this was a problem at Paradise. The beach area leading into the ocean was very rocky. We aren’t big drinkers either, but have chosen Nachi this time for our upcoming cruise. The beach area looks like it is the powdery sand that we are use to having, and our water shoes can be left on the ship.

  3. We were on Anthem a couple of weeks ago, and had one dinner at Chops. We were very much looking forward to it, as we'd had a fabulous dinner there during our first cruise on Anthem (two years ago). This cruise, though, Chops was a huge disappointment. Our server was totally rushed and terrible. We had to send two courses back, the first being our hot appetizers, which he brought into the dining room and left sitting out, unserved (we could see them) while he dealt with the checks for a nearby table. (Never leave food unserved!) By the time he served the appetizers, they were of course cold, and we sent them back. This apparently threw off the entire meal, as my steak, when finally served, was so overdone I could not cut it. (It clearly was not a great piece of meat to start with.) Back that went too.

    Worst meal of the cruise.

We met some folks who enjoyed Jamie's a great deal. We've never tried it; it looks like you are eating in a shopping mall. But please decide for yourselves. Wonderland looks too gimmicky for us; we've eaten at Qsine several times on Celebrity, and we've decided we're done with gimmicky food. Lots of folks love Wonderland. Again, you should decide.

We were in a JS, so we never ate dinner in the MDR. When we wanted a break from Coastal Kitchen, we ate in the Windjammer, which was just fine when you don't want to do the whole sit down meal thing.

    Enjoy your cruise!

I have read several bad things about Chops. We will probably just stick with the MDR and may decide to book one or more during the week if we are underwhelmed by the MDR.

    Thanks

  4. WE were disappointed with rocky beach at paradise beach club. Let me know how nacho cocum is since we will be returning next year.

I’ll do that! We should have free WiFi at Nochi.

  5. I am loving your report so far. We sail on the Oasis in three weeks, and your post will help me get through these long weeks.

I feel your foot pain! After having foot surgery in Dec. and being in a cast for 7 weeks (non-weight bearing) and a boot for 4 weeks, I finally was able to throw my boot away a week ago. I know you are so happy to be able to get rid of it on the ship. I am concerned my choice of footwear on my cruise in 21 days. Chacos are great for daytime wear, but I don't know what I am going to do for dinner attire.

Sure thing. We are sailing on the Oasis March 18.

  7. I am wondering the same thing. We are on RC and are in port from 10:00-7:00. The excursion is only 4 1/2 hours. I think I would like to stay at the resort longer. Do you think we can get our own transportation back to the ship? I am thinking of booking this through an outside vendor so that our time is more flexible. We can get the Royalton White Sands and Blue Waters Resorts for $99.

I booked the $99 to both resorts for our trip in March. We need more than 4 1/2 hours on the beach.

  8. We ended up booking the Royalton Blue Water and White Sands excursion through an excursion company. We have access to both resorts and will be able to decided how long we stay. 3-4 1/2 hours just didn't seem like enough time for us on the beach.

  9. Book Nachi Cocom. There were no rocks. That beach was like a DREAM. And they limit it to 100-some people, but when I went in October there were maybe 30 people there total, including us. Quiet, relaxing, great food, booze included.

I hope you loved it as much as I did! :-)

I finally booked Nachi Cocom this morning. I am excited to spend time here next month.

  10. WE just returned from our wonderful rc cruise and after the amazing 7 mile beach, we were disappointed in Cozumel beach. Went to paradise beach club which was lovely with beautiful pool, but beach was rocky and current rough. We don’t care about the food, looking for nice beach. Any suggestions?

We felt the same way about Paradise Beach when we went there on our last trip to Cozumel. We want and nice beach that is rock and coral free. After looking at different places, we have decided to go to Nachi Cocom while we are docked there next month. Our second choice was Pasion Island.

  11. I have been searching for the perfect beach for our day in Cozumel in March. I have read many reviews and am still unsure what to book. We have no children traveling with us and enjoy beach drinks and good food. We loved a previous excursion that took us to Tulum and a nearby beach. The sand and ocean were amazing. On the flip side, we were disappointed with our last trip to Paradise Beach. The water was murky, and there were so many rocks that shoes were a must to go into the ocean. I’m leaning towards Pasion Island or Nachi-Cocom! All suggestions appreciated!
