  1. I can understand what you mean. I have just been pricing a 7 day Alaskan cruise from here in Australia on HAL. If I book through an online TA in the USA, the fare is US$ 2377. Booking through the HAL website, which automatically defaults to an Australian $ price structure as soon as it recognises the online enquiry as coming from Australia, the fare is A$4500 - ie about US$4200 or 77% higher than the US price - for the exact same cabin, same ship and same voyage!!!! I would really be interested to know how such a price differential can be justified!

  2. We are considering booking a cabin on the Rhapsody of the Seas 7Night Sawyer Glacier cruise leaving Vancouver on 16 May. RCI seem to have reasonable prices on G2 large ocean view cabins on deck 4. But I notice that there are a string of cabins on the starboard side which seem to have remained unsold now for a while. Are there any particular problems with these cabins? I have read that there may be some noise issues with the casino and theatre being above these cabins but have not noticed any actual problems reported in the forum. Appreciate any comments you may have and whether there are any problems with these cabins.

Another query - what difference is there, if any, between the various cabin grades G1,G2, H and I cabins? Looking at the floor plans they all seem to be the same. Is it simply the location on the ship that determines whether a cabin is G1/2, H or I?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

  3. I think that there is a bus service Haneda to Yokohama and vv. Cost is around Yen 500. You could check Haneda airport website for details. I think it is run by a company called Airport Limousine Bus so you could check their website also. Bus would be a better option than train. From memory you would need to get the train from Yokohama to Hamamatsucho Station near Tokyo Station and then catch the monorail back to Haneda. Quite a hassle if you have any baggage, especially if traveling during peak hours. Bus would be much more convenient as it is door to door and is equipped to carry baggage. I think the bus option would also work out cheaper than the train and monorail. Good luck.
