Side note, I could be imagining things, but I feel like the slots (Scarlet Lady) are a bit 'tighter' now than they used to be. I had leftover sailor loot on my recent trip and transferred some of it to casino money. On my last cruise in Feb, I was able to break even enough on some particular machines that I was able to convert a lot of sailor loot to cash. Same machines in May, this time I was losing much more quickly, felt like being in a Vegas strip resort. I know slots are inherently dumb/random, but you get a feel for how fast one of them will take your money, and we had spent a couple of hours with this same set of slots in Feb.
You will never be able to pull enough slot pulls to notice the difference in a change in percentage of payout. That percentage payout is based on a number much larger than you could ever get on multiple cruises. You just had bad luck on the last cruise.

Nothing in this review is a surprise.
The ships tend to struggle anywhere over 1,500 passengers. That's been well documented by passengers as well as from the staff itself.
We missed out on shows our first cruise due to dining times and not reserving early but we still had a blast.
The good thing is that Virgin takes feedback seriously, more so than any other line, since they are still new and trying to perfect their niche cruise so hopefully you took the time to provide feedback.
While Virgin is FAR from perfect, it's our favorite cruise line when you factor in the overall experience for us.

I found the casino to be one of the big negatives of Virgin. Sterile atmosphere. The buildout was an afterthought and the selections of slots is minimal and pretty boring machines.

They are heavily pressured to sell you products after your service is over.
It's a HUGE turnoff for me to be pushed products as I am trying to get up from my massage table just moments after completing a massage
After I told the lady No on several occasions, I was quickly escorted out of the Spa by the therapist and the look on her face was of disgust.
Never again for me.

The house band usually plays 1 hour of latin music on each sailing. Its fun but it's not a true latin band. I think that is greatly missed on a cruise leaving from Miami.

90% of the crap on the sundae is not needed. A simple scoop of gelato or maybe turning it into an affagato, which I believe is an option would be great.
I think Princess knows this and it discourages people from ordering these. In the long run, they probably save money this way since people can't eat too many of them

I've done Princess more than any other line.
I found the food and service to be much better than RCL and on par with Celebrity and has been pretty consistent. I like to chill during the day by the pools or with a great view of the ocean, so I don't need many activities to entertain me during the day.
I've only been on Celebrity once and were bored at night with the entertainment options.

Not having a drink package really affects how "Party" and "Drunk" the ship gets. It's actually pretty relaxed. I dont drink and I had a blast

We just sailed on Valiant Lady and fell in love with Virgin.
There are no "official" meetups but about 30% of your ship will be LGBT.
Get to know the "Happenings" crew. They will make your experience better.
Everyone we met was extremely friendly especially towards the end of the cruise around Scarlet Night.
We are bringing a lot of our gay friends to the July 15th sailing on Scarlet Lady.
Enjoy your sailing. It really is a different vibe due to Adults only.

Anyone know they will give a refund to anyone who had a deposit for a cruise based on this? I have a deposit down for a cruise in late 2021 that was transferred from a cruise I canceled previously in 2020. I have no problem getting the vaccine but would prefer to get my money back if I can use this as an excuse.
Yes they will. I was on chatting with them today and they offered refunds.

It took us a while to get through today. Guessing multiple people were doing the same

We are going over New Years and we are early 40s. I just gifted my parents a Virgin Cruise and they are beyond excited about it.

If you are a scuba diver, Cozumel is one of the top locations in the Caribbean.

Yes...my email came at the same time as my confirmation from Celebrity for the purchase. Did you make sure to add the offer your card first before making purchase?

I just purchased $500 in Casino Credits and instantly got an email from Amex for the $150 credit.

We are changing to the 7 day cruise over Xmas. Price went up from $3495 to $3995 in the last hour unfortunately.
I asked the agent and she said it is filling up quickly with people booked to go to Havana.
Nothing was offered other than to exchange the cruise

Superior food and NO nickle and diming confirms my choice to sail with Virgin rather than Celebrity any more
Celebrity might have better ships but the experience of Virgin can't be beat and their desserts are amazing.
