I was on the Legend as well on the May 10th sailing. I definitely would not say I had a bad time and it wouldn't prevent me from booking on Royal , however, having cruised numerous times over the past years on Royal I have definitely noticed cut backs. There were no waiters to be had taking drink orders around the Solarium pool. Considering we ended up with three sea days and people were around crowded around the Solarium pool ; this would having been a feeding frenzy for the waiters. Food has definitely taken a downward trend and now there are items on the main dining menu to purchase. I will pretty much eat anything and there was a couple of nights that I struggled to order something. The Windjammer was mediocre at best and tables remained dirty and not cleaned quickly. This is really minor but there were no pens in the staterooms or paper. The movie outside would have been great entertainment if perhaps blankets were supplied. Princess offered that on their Alaskan cruise. Line ups were long at the Park Cafe because most of the time only one employee was serving.
Our steward was fantastic and our waiter was good as well.
My intent with this post is not to come off as whinny and my expectations are not extreme. I am just saying that I have noticed a difference with this cruise over the past.
