That is a picture of an S class ship, not an M.  This is the Summit thread.  You can tell it is an S class by the indentation of the railing in the middle, the M class ships the railing goes straight across.

The canopies on the Summit, which this thread is about, HAVE been replaced by slats.

Yep, I can reconfirm. This is the aft veranda of 8185 taken two weeks ago. Still very much the canopies

It's not about the change in colors or décor, rather the lack of functionality in the décor and amenities. For example, a shower that used to have a bar for women to use to shave their legs is now gone. No where to put Celebrity's bath products, let alone a place to put your own in the shower.

...... I’m not sure what gave you the impression these were no longer there, as my cabin (C1) had everything you lamented was gone. (You cant quite tell by my picture but the basket to store products is on the side wall opposite the shower head.)

We spent a lot of time in our cabin. Had breakfast on our veranda every morning, was the table smaller, yes, but it still fit a large tray for two.

There was more than enough storage for both of us (one of us being a teen girl that changes up to 3 times a day no less lol) Nothing fell from  any of the open shelving despite some heavy rocking at times.

And believe it or not, we never once felt sad or down despite the drab, bland decor of the room.

In fact, it felt fresh, clean warm and modern. But most of all FUNCTIONAL.

Believe me, I’m not coming down on anyone with reservations about the changes. But I do wish some people would have more of an open mind.

One thing I noticed from the room video above is in the bathroom, the shelves to hold your cosmetics do not have that little railing around the edges - what were they thinking?  Every pitch and roll of the ship and your stuff is going to be on the floor.

Actually, all the open shelving in the room had a rim near the edge that was about an inch or so high. You can see it on the shelving beside the sliding door at about 1:40 in the video.

We had some heavy rolling a few times in the inaugural cruise and never once did any of the items I had on the shelves fall or even shifted.

Also, we had the beds apart in our room and never felt that the nightstands were out of reach, they also could easily be moved if they did.

We will also be on that sailing.  I’ll do my best to live update, we are in a Royal, so free WiFi, but my DW is NOT excited for me to be on a device while on holiday. I’ll sneak some pictures as much as I can!

Im also on that sailing, and will have free wifi as well, so we'll also do our best to be on top of photos and live updates 🙂
