I just called Celebrity today and asked to speak to someone regarding shore excursions. I wanted to book a shore excursion today (because of the 20% off) and use my OBC. She told me it had to be within two weeks of the cruise to use OBC for shore excursions. . Has anyone ever heard that before - or did she just want to get me off the phone. My cruise is a month away? Thanks.

Do you know if we have to pay for room service for breakfast on Celebrity ships?

Did you reserve a golf cart in advance or just walk off the ship and find a rental?
We will be in Bimini in about two weeks. There seems to be a lot of Golf Cart rentals. Can you give me an idea about the price for a rental for half a day - nobody seems to be giving out prices on their website. Thanks.

I was just speaking to someone today that just got off the Mardi Gras. She said that if you had My Time Dining all restaurants were available to you (including Specialty) at no charge. I was wondering if anyone knew anything about this and was the Magic doing the same thing???

We are also on the 12/4/20 sailing and I spoke to a person from Celebrity the other day and said the sailing was still a go. Looking forward to it.. I did book an oceanview (now I am hoping for an upgrade) - I can't see why that would not happen

Hi: We hopefully will be onboard the Celebrity Reflection in December. We do not drink alcohol, but my husband likes non-alcoholic beer. Does anyone know if we can bring a 12 pack (of cans) of non-alcoholic beer onboard if we carry it on ourselves. We did that last year on Carnival with no problem.

Hi: I just got off the phone with my TA. Now, I am more confused then ever. We were suppose to be on the 5/16/20 Caribbean Princess sailing. I choose Option 2 FCC that was suppose to be 125% FCC. I basically asked my TA how much my FCC was for (she said its not posted yet), but told me what I was suppose to get. It is the same price as what I paid. I said to her I thought I was getting 125% (she said that is what it is) because you don't count the taxes. Looking at it that way I am receiving nothing more than what I paid, or do we get the taxes put back on our credit card automatically. Sorry, but I am very confused at this point? If anyone can help, thank you.

We have Indy booked for a 5 day Coco Cay and Labadee for 9/14/2020 out of Port Everglades. This sounds like a reasonable itinerary.
We are also going to be on that cruise. I am still hopeful this will take place, as its just basically their private islands. We are really looking forward to it - been on Indy a couple of times and love the ship. We will see how many people are actually on this cruise.

I phoned HAL about this question and was told I could bring my own non-alcoholic mixers and water/soda, but that I was not to give it to the porters to carry and must carry it myself. We're bringing two cases of water, plus our allowed wine and two bottles of MaiTai mix. Instead of a drink package, we opted for a less expensive option of purchasing spirits by the bottle in advance from HAL. We ended up buying two vodka and a rum, plus two eight bottle wine packages and it cost about a third of what a drink package would have.
My husband and I are going on our 1st HAL cruise (Veendam) in a couple of weeks. We do not drink alcohol, but my husband does like his non-alcoholic beer. Last year we went on Carnival and we put in our suitcase a 12 pack of non-alcoholic beer (cans) and everything was fine. We also have been on RCCL, Celebrity, Princess and I know we cannot do that. I was wondering if anyone knows if we can bring a 12 pack (in cans) of non-alcoholic beer on HAL. Thank you. If we can, I will definitely be carrying it on myself.

Hi: My husband and I are going on our first HAL cruise next month. I will be booking this cruise Saturday, but its between two of their ships (one is the Veendem and the other is the Nieuw Amsterdam). We have been on over 65 cruises ,but like I said, first time on HAL. Could someone let me know the difference between the Veendem and the Nieuw Amsterdam - I would appreciate it. We don't need the glitz and glamour, but we do like entertainment at night and just walking the deck after dinner. Thank you very much.

I really like HAL and Celebrity both. We did 3 TA on Celebrity. On HAL we did 2 méditerranéen and the last TA. The food, the employees are great.
On HAL I like that a standard veranda cabin has a foot stool on the balcony. I do not get the concierge class on Celebrity.
I did not have to stand on the bed to store my clothing like on the Reflection.
The roof over the middle ship pool opens and with the aft pool, it gives 2 outside pools.
The atmospheres in the pools areas.
The variety of music venues in the evenings.
The price of drinks seems lower.
Our coming cruise is in the caribbean. I am curious to see the atmosphere. Eventhough I do not like crazy Circus atmosphere around the pool (we experienced this one time on a different line) I enjoy some live music. All in moderation!
Hi: My husband and I are booking a HAL cruise next month. We have been on over 65 cruises, but never on HAL - we figure it is time. We usually do RCL, Celebrity, Princess, NCL (in that order). Usually I have no trouble booking a cruise, but because I'm not really educated on HAL I am hoping someone can help me. I am 65 and my husband is 77 - we are active, but we do not need the waterslides, rock climbing things like that. At night we usually do the show and then just walk around the ship. I love to walk out on the deck after dinner and just look at the ocean. I am looking at the Veenham? I also like to listen to music. Would the Veenham be a good first choice for going on HAL??? Thank you.

Does anyone know how long it would take to walk to Red Hook from Crown Bay. We will be in St Thomas in May and would like to go over to St John on our own - we will be in St Thomas from 10:00AM to 10:00PM so we do have plenty of time. Thank you.

(feel free to merge this if there is a spot it fits in, i couldn't find a non ship specific thread) -

Hi: GREAT cabin - we will be on the AOTS in a couple of weeks - we have cabin 1880 - I was trying to get a look at it - but I couldn' t find the cabin itself - do you happen to know if cabin 1880 is anything like your cabin (I know it isn't as big), but I was wondering what to expect. Thank you.

Hi everyone: we are going on the Magic on 9/28/19 - this is only our 2nd time on Carnival - we live in Florida so we have cruised a lot (just not on Carnival). I just really wanted to confirm something. My husband and I do not drink alcohol (but we do drink non-alcoholic beer). We were told by Carnival that we can bring a 12 pack of non-alcoholic beer if its 12 oz. and in a can. Can someone confirm that for me. Thanks for your help.

Hello everyone - my husband and I are planning a cruise on Holland America - we live in Florida and we have been on about 63 cruises (mostly RCCL, Celebrity & Princess). I usually don't have any trouble booking a cruise, but since we have never been on HAL before I am wondering if you guys can help us. I was thinking about the Statendam (I guess thats the newest one) but now I am thinking about the Zurderdam (I know I am spelling these ships wrong). We are in our 60's and 70's but are very active and like listening to music and going to shows at night. I love walking the deck after dinner and just seating out and enjoying the ocean. During the day I love to be in the solarium on sea days. Could someone recommend what ships you think we should look into - we will be going out of Ft. Lauderdale and we are looking for middle of January. Thanks for everyones help.

Hi: Can anyone recommend how to rent a jeep in Cozumel. We will be on the Vision of the Seas middle of October and thought about renting a jeep for a couple of hours.

HI everyone: Thanks for getting back to me so fast - I did see some available rooms on deck 9 (same category I'm in), Cabin 9145, 9545, 9551, 9537, I was just wondering if because they are on Deck 9 I know that we would get a window overlooking Central Park? What do you think? Thanks, Louise
