  1. Our last cruise was on the Star Princess 12/04/19-12/19/19 from L.A. to Hawaii and back. Cold,Cold Cold. 4 day there and 5 days back the weather was 50 degrees and 50 mile per hour winds. That was bad enough but the seas were 35 foot daily. The Captain stated he had never had a transit that was that rough every day. The passengers were a very diverse lot..1/4 of the ship (660 passengers) were Western Asian / Pan Asian  that had flown in for the cruise. Never saw the Captain except at the Champagne Waterfall. At the Elite party, the Captain was not in the receiving line and the Senior Officers were not allowed the shake hands. Makes you wonder if they had some kind of inkling about the upcoming Covid-19 Pandemic? Loved the Islands once we got there, temps in the upper 70's to upper 80's. At our age (near 70), it will be a while before we cruise again, but with 24 cruises under our belt, we have PLENTY of memories to hold onto until the next one. I for one, plan on living with my dear wife for a long time yet!

  2. I want to thank everyone for all the information. Both of my questions have been answered and then some. I understand that they have a free shuttle to the cruiseport which is nice. Now I was wondering about a shuttle service to/from LAX. I tried calling the hotel numerous times today but for some reason the calls would not complete. Finally, I got through at 8:15pm eastern time and was told by the desk that due to heavy rain storm a local traffic accident had taken out a transformer and that basically the entire city had been with out power. It had come back approx. 5:00pst.  The gentleman that answered suggested Uber or the Super Shuttle but had no info on phone # or cost of the shuttle. As always the Cruise Critic Forum have had the best information

  3. Good day all,  If I may ask 2 questions.

    1. DW and I are booked on a 15 day Hawaii cruise on the Star Princess on December 4th of this year and are looking for suggestions for a day early stay near San Pedro Ca. I talked with my Princess PVP and all they had was a Hyatt Regency at $450+. Sorry, slightly over my comfort zone. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

    2. On the same cruise, I am trying to find out what the weather/temperature would be like at that time of year at sea and in port.

  4. Apologies to all for a possibly redundant question..I have never redeemed points for a "statement credit" before. Onboard credits I have done many times. DW and I have an upcoming 14 day cruise. We have been saving points for many years and have accrued 250,000+ points. Do I do a statement credit just like an onboard credit re: multiples of 40,000 pts. at a value of $500.00 ea. towards the cruise cost?
