  1. Tennisbo: It's good to hear it's been so long since you've had a true binge and that you don't think you'll ever do it again. That must be a good feeling!

21 Day Fix is a program that is based around portion control. You use colored containers for each food category and keep track of how many containers you've eaten each day. For example, the green container is for vegetables and I am able to eat six of those a day. I wouldn't necessarily call it a diet because it really is a lifestyle change.

There are also workouts that you can do at home with the DVD's that are 30 minutes every day. They mix up cardio and weightlifting, along with yoga and Pilates.

I would definitely recommend it! It's working for me :-)

It helps that I am a coach, so my weight loss story is very public and that gives me added accountability. If you would like any more information feel free to email me. My email is besidebeth@gmail.com.

  2. I have also had a bad past with binging on food. When things were at the worst I would go to the grocery store and literally buy anything and everything I wanted to eat (all junk of course) and just go to town for the rest of the weekend eating everything in sight. I felt awful about myself afterwards, but in the moment it felt like something that I didn't have any control over.

Thankfully I was able to figure out what was triggering these episodes and now I am able to eat treats occasionally instead of going out of control.

For me I have found that portion control is a big help, so I started doing 21 Day Fix back in October. I'm happy to say that I have lost 17 pounds in three months and am continuing on my weight-loss journey so that I can be healthy and happy on my cruise coming up at the end of April.

Thanks for starting this board! I think it's something that a lot of people struggle with but don't feel comfortable talking about.

  3. Loved the cucumber martini. Never would have tried if not for the class. People kept walking in from CP. The crew didn't know how to disengage the automatic doors

That's funny! Did you do the class in the Rising Tide bar? We rode up to the top during the class I took, so I guess that would have discouraged people from trying to get in :D

  4. I did both the wine tasting and the martini class suggested by others when I was on Oasis in February. Both were a ton of fun and completely worth the money! I believe you do need to make reservations for both of them, but that's definitely something you can do once you're on the ship if you want to wait. I still make the cucumber mint martini recipe that they gave us during the martini class :D

  5. I don't believe the mini golf course will be there after dry dock

Yes, good point. But krvlcruiser was saying they are going to be on Navigator and wondered what would be involved in a golf tournament. So I guess my answer was geared more towards them rather than someone looking to set up a golf tournament on Liberty specifically. Although I do realize this is a Liberty board…so I'm sorry for any confusion!

  6. I also followed her review and thought it was amazing!

I tried to set up a mini golf tournament on Oasis last February and had 20-ish people say they were going to come. And on the day of the event literally zero people came. It was really disappointing because I even had mini golf pencils customized as a little gift that said "Oasis 2015". When I met the people at our Meet & Mingle they all said they lost track of time...

Definitely not trying to be a naysayer or a Debbie Downer, but in my personal experience people don't necessarily show up when they say they're going to. I think they get lost in having fun on the cruise and don't really want to be tied down to a specific day and time for an event.

    Just my two cents!

  7. Fun story: We were on a recent cruise and Rachel had a Fireball on ice. Then we were on a crowded elevator and someone in front said "I smell Fireball!" Rachel said "I have it" and raised her glass. Someone looked at me and said "Where's yours?" I pointed at my beautiful Rachel and said "That's MY fireball!!" Lots of laughs!!

    That's funny! What a good story!! :D

  8. Wow, I think I will try that on my next cruise. And you just gave me a good idea for a trivia team name as well. :D

Haha, glad to help! Fireball is also good with RumChata liqueur...it tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Not sure if they'll have that on the ship, but maybe try it if you buy a bottle of Fireball at home. So good!

  9. I had a hold that I let expire, and got a phone call the next day. I told them we had decided to wait it out and see if prices went down at all. Well I guess their calling tactics work because 20 minutes later I was making our deposit. Haha. She was able to give me some sort of discount and onboard perks to sweeten the deal enough for us to book on the spot.

Wow, that sounds like a good deal! I guess I should program the number as RCCL into my phone so I know who is calling next time.

  10. I too received a call when I first put our room on hold for upcoming Adventure cruise. Since the hold had expired, the agent offered to throw in a chocolate/fruit plate to be delievered to our cabin if we booked with him over the phone. Was planning to book anyways once I got home from work that day, so I went ahead and made the reservation.

We will see if the goodies actually get delivered since I booked back in June...

That ended up working out well...one less thing to do when you got home!

I'll keep my fingers crossed you get your goodies as promised!

  11. When Empress first opened up I put a hold on an ocean view. Talked to the DW about the cruise and dates and when we wanted to go (we had been waiting for her to open up bookings). Once we decided all that I canceled the hold (crap room) and rebooked a b2b with a better room.

Got a call that afternoon from a certified vacation planner along with an email, asking if everything was ok and why I canceled my "reservation". Explained it was a hold and that I just rebooked to get a better room. She said ok and just wanted to make sure I was happy with RCCL, etc, etc. Then went into selling excursions and drink packages.

First time I've ever gotten the call also, however also the first time I've cancelled a hold/reservation.

Interesting, I haven't cancelled anything but have made plenty of price checks using my login without actually holding any rooms. I wondered if that triggered the call...?

Either way I'm glad to know someone else has had it happen to them. At first I thought I was getting a visit from the "upgrade fairy"! Maybe next time!!

  12. For these ports I went on the Altun Ha and River Wallace tour (Belize) & Tulum Express tour (Cozumel) though the Royal Caribbean excursions. This was back in 2014 so I am not sure if they are still available or not.

I liked both excursions a lot but would warn you that for the River Wallace tour you are basically in the sun the whole time and for the Tulum Express there was a pretty rough ferry ride to & from. I wouldn't say those are enough reason to not go on these excursions but it helps to be informed ahead of time so you can prepare.

Have fun whatever you choose to do!!

  13. Has anyone recently received a call directly from Royal Caribbean offering customer service support (other than having them return your call)?

I got a call earlier today from a woman at Royal Caribbean asking me if I had been able to make my reservation for Navigator of the Seas. When I confirmed that I had indeed made a reservation she then asked if I needed help booking any excursions, specialty dining, etc. She said that she had sent me an email earlier in the day (stating my correct email address), but I never got an email. I checked my junk mail just to be sure...

Curious, I Googled the number (800-859-7225) and a thread from CC back in 2011 popped up talking about Certified Vacation Planners. So I know it's legitimate and not some scam, but at the same time it seemed odd to me that she would call not knowing if I actually had a reservation or not, when clearly she had my account in front of her to know my email address, ship, etc.

So now I'm curious...has anyone else ever gotten one of these calls? Is this standard and I just haven't gotten one up to this point? Or is it as odd as I thought it was? No complaints...I'm happy to have been offered one-on-one support, but wasn't sure if it was typical or not.

    Sorry for the long-winded question!!
