    Howdy Karen! emo22.gif

It is not Staff, Management, Hosts or Moderators hiding your post. It is an automated software process triggered by certain words as stated above:

After the post automatically appears in the Approval Queue list, then it is a human that reads the hidden post & approves the post for posting by unhiding the post if it is not spam.

And yes, if it is not unhid, then as mentioned above:

I sincerely hope this information will be helpful!  emo34.gif  Glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic!!! emo35.gif

    Happy sails,

    Thanks for the info!

Yes, some comments may be automatically hidden for review.  We can set up word filters for example to view all comments that contain certain words before releasing them.  Some new members may have their first comments hidden before we verify their membership.

If a comment ends up not being able to be posted the poster would be sent a note. Quite honestly, that rarely happens unless it's spam.

I just had my last post hidden so hunted around for the info. Hopefully mine will be released soon as I don't see any reason the mods would hide it. Hopefully someone explains if they do end up keeping it hidden!

  3. That’s an interesting option. What BA hotel are you staying at? Is it part of a package with Diego? What hotel are you at in Iguazu? We’re headed there in Feb and trying to finalize a precruise trip.

The hotels are included in Diego's tour. In Iguazu it is the Orquideas Palace hotel and in Buenos Aires it is the 725 Continental Hotel.

  4. We also have booked Diego's 2 night/3 day Iguazu Falls Tour pre-cruise. We fly overnight from home on Dec 30, 2018 arriving in Buenos Aires on Dec 31. Diego's rep picks us up from the airport and we head straight to Iguazu leaving our big luggage behind which will be taken to the BA hotel we will return to on Jan 2. We stay at the BA hotel that night and begin cruise on Jan 3. He also throws in a city tour of BA. His price per person for the 3 night/4 days is less than what our cruise company offers for their one day excursion. Anyone else on this threat going to be on the Jan 3, 2019 Star Princess?

  5. We have traveled quite a bit since our Med cruise. Being retired for the last 5 years does help. :D We were also concerned about the flight cost to Iguazu; but found the pricing to be much more reasonable by booking directly with Latam. It is too early to book for your flights in 2019 now; but in a few months when pricing is available, it should look better. If you are looking at Jan 2018 prices for comparison, they will be much higher, since there probably aren't many seats left.

Hi Mike, in looking at your travel blog again today I am curious how you handled Santiago. You mention Personal Tours Chile. Did you create your own itinerary or did you choose a tour from their website? Our return flight to Miami dpts at 10p so lots of time to kill the day we end the cruise in Santiago.

  6. We have not been yet. Going on the Emerald Princess, Jan 2018. We did go ahead and book them. I had gotten their name from lady I met on another cruise who had used them and really liked them. I found where they were mentioned favorably on a couple of travel blogs. I just really liked the idea that someone else would plan it all out for us. We will be flying to BA and doing the Iguazo Falls tour first, then 2 days in BA before the cruise and they are arranging all of that for use. Don't like the fact that we have to pay in full before the tour but that is what trip insurance is for! Good luck to us both!!!!!

Please let me know how the tour to Iguazu was. We are planning our trip for January 2019. Enjoy your cruise.

  7. We cruised both of those locations on the Crown Princess last winter. Glacier Alley is especially impressive. We (group of 4) had wonderful back to back cruises from LA to Valparaiso to Rio. I don't think Rio is on the Princess itinerary any longer but we really enjoyed the city and our DIY post cruise trip to Iguassu Falls. While we all enjoyed our balconies, do remember that while it is summer in the Southern Hemisphere, the weather is still chilly so you may not spend much time on it. If my choices were an SA cruise with no balcony or no cruise at all, I would take the former in a heartbeat!

Thanks for the info. How did you work your trip to Iguassu Falls - take a flight/take a bus? Stay overnight? (I see Viator has a bus excursion but that must be a VERY long bus ride). We put a deposit down on a balcony on the Star Princess for the moment as Princess is familiar for us and we have a bit of status with them.

  8. Hi Karen,

I forgot to mention in my previous post about Glacier Alley. On the Infinity, we left port at 5:00 PM and didn't arrive at the first glacier until 8:21 PM. With sunset at 8:13 PM, it meant that we were seeing it with very little light. It was still impressive; but this time we leave Ushuaia at 1:00 PM, so we will have a much different experience. Of course the downside is that people who have not previously been to the beautiful town of Ushuaia, will have very little time to visit Tierra del Fuego Park. If you are going eastbound on your cruise, you will have different challenges seeing the glaciers. Best of luck and have a great cruise.

Thanks, Mike for your helpful info. After all these years after we joined you/Carol on a Med cruise, your website is still our 'go to' place for finding info on what to do and tips on how you did it (not to mention enjoying all of your wonderful photos). You have been on sooo many additional trips since that trip and not slowing down! Your future Suez Canal one seems very intriguing!

We have gone ahead and booked with Princess for the Jan 3, 2019 Cape Horn/Strait of Magellan cruise. They made us an offer we couldn't refuse ;). John really wants to go to Iguazu Falls on a day trip (or maybe one overnight) prior to jumping onboard the Princess Star but I am nervous about all the pieces fitting so we don't miss the ship. We just returned from the Galapagos and had very good experience with Latam Airlines flights but the current costs on flights from BA to Iguazu at the moment seem ridiculously expensive. Will keep a watch on that as we get closer.

  9. Parking at the parking garage by terminal 2 is $15.00 per day. We have used it once. It was easy in and easy out for that time. There are less expensive places to park away from the terminal. For us it was a matter of convenience so we could be on our way for the long drive home when we disembarked.

You can drop off luggage and then park on embarkation day.

Thanks for the info. We have been trying to decide whether to park at the port or get offsite parking. It is worth the extra cost to just get off the boat, walk to our car and take off as long as it isn't a big hassle.

  10. Hi there, although I haven't used this company, in doing research online, they come highly recommended and also via Tripadvisor reviewers, so I will be taking their tour on my November cruise. The company's name is Highlight Wine Tours. This Tripadvisor link should work for you but if not just google them. Good luck! http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g255117-d1631804-Reviews-Highlight_Wine_Tours-Blenheim_Marlborough_Region_South_Island.html
