  1. I’m from the NY area and everything is closed. If you were not laid off, you are working from home. School is closed, I’m a teacher, and we are working remotely. It’s challenging. We had little training or heads up, just one  day and then school closed. We are expected to teach via google classroom or zoom. All my materials are in my classroom. We’re all stressed and work 24/7 planning, but then, I have a job and paycheck coming in.  The Commissioner of Education is not saying anything yet, but we all know we will not return to school until the new term in September . We hope🙏.

As for my July 20 cruise, I believe I’d never get a flight to London. To board the boat at this point. No cruises out of US ports. Has anyone tried to get their money back. We have insurance, that was suppose to let us cancel for any reason ( mom is 96), but the fine print say no pandemic. Who would have thought that clause meant anything relevant.

Supermarket shelves do not have toilet paper, paper towel/napkins, Tylenol, cold remedies and cold preventives. If we order from a restaurant that is open, you pay online with credit, stand outside the restaurants front door until you are handed your food. Most stores except For supermarkets, pharmacies, lawn and hardware stores are closed. Some stores only let a few people in at a time.we have to stay at home, but you can walk or ride your bike as long as your 6 feet away from people. Unreal.

  2. I don't enjoy eating late so we booked a dinner time of 6:30. I've been reading about MTD and it seems like it will work for us, especially if shore excursions are later. Would someone explain how it works? Will there be a time when, let's say, I want 7 and the only available time open is 10? Do you book a time in the AM, night before or.......ect?

  3. We will be cruising in Eastern Europe. I’ve been warned by friends (I’m in the US) that when they visited Europe, often others would push ahead of them and cut in line, and one said a word. It’s accepted. Friends warned me to stay attentive and be aware, to prevent this, people push into you so as not to create a small opening allowing someone to cut. Is this true?

Imagine the torment a middle schooler would get cutting in the lunch line?

  4. We are taking a Royal Caribbean Mediterranean cruise in August. First time cruisers. We will have our credit and debit cards for ATMs in ports, and will get some euros before leaving the NY. In reading info on this forum I see that everyone tips "special staff" at the end of their cruise beyond what is included in the cruise gratuity. This leaves me with the problem of how much American cash to bring. Our cruise is 7 days. We also have a $400 credit, whatever that means.

    Suggestions?

    Clueless

  6. This will be our first cruise. Thanks to all who post as it is enlightening. When we booked we were given a $400 credit. How do we use it? Can I just save it for check out because I'm afraid that things are added to my bill I am not prepared for. (we are getting a beverage package)
