  1. Just booked room 13870 for May! Has anyone been in an angled balcony room? If so, how is it?

Was having a hard time deciding bt Oasis, Allure and Getaway, Escape. I was reading the Royal Caribbean boards and everyone e seemed to be complaining about something or arguing so I decided to go ahead and try out a practically brand new ship for my first NCL cruise. I come to the NCL boards and most people are happy with their experience and those that aren't still seem happy.

    Looking forward to our cruise!

We had angled balcony on Getaway last December, makes such a difference - enjoy. We have booked a deck 9 forward large balcony for maiden voyage from Southampton - can't wait

  2. All cruise ships that have had more steelwork added in the form of accommodation or enhanced features have had ducktails fitted which can then be ballasted to counteract additional "top weight" and return the ship to its original metacentric height (centre of Gravity). This can also increase the ships fuel efficiency and reduce drag.

Most cruise lines are reducing their cruising speed to save fuel and if the duck tail can give fuel reduction this is of benifit to the cruise line.

On cruise ships with ducktails fitted it has shown upwards of a 4% fuel saving.

  3. Thank you Disney Fantasy for the excellent pictures on sailaway.

We were at a meeting at Disney HQ with Karl Holz (President DCL)and Lyza Migliorati (Imagineer)in London three weeks into the drydock and at that time all was going fine.
