  1. Thanks everyone for all the tips! I did book our excursions separately from the cruise already, and our hotel rooms before and after. Also reserved our car rentals.

I've been daily stalking these boards, which have been extremely helpful.

Can't wait to share my experience here once we come home!

  2. We are taking on first cruise in just 23 days (but who's counting) =)

I am trying to plan ahead for my budget, so how much extra do you usually spend on board?

What are some things that cost extra, that a new cruiser like myself would not know about?

I've already prepaid for tips and a spa treatment. We don't drink alcohol or soda, so I don't need the drink package, but hubby does drink coffee and tea.

    Thanks everyone for your help!

  3. We are very excited to be going on our first cruise next month, June 19th. My question is I have noticed they now have a police discount for this room (which we would qualify for as my husband is a chaplain for our local city and county PD, and the fire dept.) and a the price has dropped. I called to ask about it and the customer service rep told me since it was past my final payment day, April 19th, they could not adjust price or give me on board credit. We ordered our cruise through Royal Caribbean on the phone in March. So my question is, what are my options? We booked a large oceanview room on deck 4 and I see the balcony rooms are available at same or less now, has anyone had success getting their room upgraded when prices have decreased?

    Thanks

  4. My husband and I along with a couple that we are good friends with are taking our first cruise in about 6 weeks on the Royal Caribbean ship, Vision of the Seas, and I have a few questions...

We're scheduling our "my time dining" and I was wondering what time the Broadway style show is and do they only have one showing a day?

Also could someone explain the difference between my time dining and traditional dining? which do you prefer?

What other activities are available for the evening besides the show? (We are not into the lounge/bar atmosphere.)

Do they have blow dryers in the cabins? We are booked in a oceanview stateroom if that makes a difference.

When setting up the precruise planner what for room arrangements what does it mean together/both together?

    Thanks everyone for your help!

Also could someone explain exactly what my time dining is? Is it necessary?

  6. We are taking our first cruise in June with RC and I am trying to plan an excursion at our return port destination. If our cruise docks at 7am, what time should we expect to be off the ship with our luggage?
