  1. Unfortunately, I know the answer to this from experience. My husband lost his sign & sail card, driver's license and some cash in Grand Turk. It is probably floating in the ocean somewhere. First, know you can't enter the port area without the sign & sail card in some port. We had to go to the port security office and tell them what happened. That took over an hour. They radioed all the agents to see if it had been found. Finally, the head person walked my husband up to the ship to escort him on board. Because I still had my sign-and-sail card, I was able to enter the ship. My husband had to tell his name and cabin #. They typed it into the computer screen and matched his photo (the one they take when you enter the ship). He was then able to enter the ship and go straight to guest services to get a new card. The problems occurred after you get home. He didn't have a driver's license, so I got to drive the entire way home (10 hours). He then had to report the license lost/stolen and get a new one. If this happens to you in the future, please know that you might have problems writing checks because your driver's license # is linked to your checking account with the company that verifies checks. It is a pain to send them a police report and take care of it. I hope this doesn't happen to you but if it does, know you can get back on the ship if the port authority escorts you on board.

O my goodness! I am so sorry this happened to you! The paranoid side of brain needed this question answered, and I really appreciate your answer.

  2. Hi,

Show me the Carnival branded gear you've bought on the ships! IE- shirts, bags, souvenirs, etc.

Can anyone confirm what sizes they carry for tshirts? Husband and I are both plus sized, and hoping we can buy a tshirt.

We cruise in 20 days and super excited! Do the ships still sell Carnival Christmas ornaments?

Thanks and have a great day!

  3. Hi,

I am the queen of over packing- but i dont really consider it over packing, i consider it being prepared for any situation. here are some things i am packing:

    Highlighter

    Post it notes

    Plastic bags of all sizes

    Kindle/ or books

    first aid supplies

    small sewing kit

    Small fan

Snorkel gear- we have good stuff, plus i hate the idea of using stuff 1000 others use.

    Tervis tumblers

All i can think of right now. Happy Cruisin!

  4. I have the worst anxiety! Ive found over the years i can help prevent it if i over prepare for the trip. I research the heck out of everywhere im going and i pack everything i could possibly need. It helps to relieve the what if's for me.

  5. Our cabin steward met us right away and asked if we wanted early or late room service. We chose late so he could get in there while we were at dinner. Worked out great for us except I have one question for all of you....

What do you do with room service trays when you're finished? We ordered coffee and fruit or bagels every morning but the tray was not removed until dinner time. Kind of gross and in our way in that tiny cabin. We had always set the tray in the hallway in the past, but I saw a debate started on John Heald's page and lots of people say that's rude? So yeah, not sure what the proper etiquette is on that one.

Anywhoo, as soon as we got our swimming suits on, the girls decorated our door. We always buy a simple decoration and poster putty from the Dollar Tree.

I bought that same flamingo for our cabin door in October!
