  1. Yup, it's gone. It's now a salad bar on Lanai BBQ days, else it stays empty and abandoned.

Exactly where is there a salad bar???

Are we talking about the Dream?

I have never seen a salad bar besides at the buffet, the taste bar is still available as well

  2. Hilton is at the mouth of the Harbour. Sheraton / Melia (as well as breezes, Wyndham and Sandals) are on Cable Beach.

Cabbage Beach (and Atlantis beach) on Paradise Island can be quite rough with an undertow.

The others are generally much calmer.

Awesome, that was a huge help, no one can ever answer this question 👍, ok now I'm gonna ask you which one would you suggest lol. I would like calm, clear, sandy bottom, not rocky and clean beach

  3. Super easy to find bus. Just walk down past straw market and take a left into the circular area. Look for pink building. Lots of white buses.

AmandaKaye79, looking at your cruisings you have been here a few times, is there any other hotel pass u has preferred over this one.(Hilton, Wyndham )..or another beach spot that is better than another ? This is my first time here and we usually go to grand cayman, is the water, sand any comparison? Do we need water shoes here?

    Also any suggestions on Freeport?

    Thanks

  4. Hope this helps

Scubagirl, do u find one beach like cable, cabbage, paradise cove (I think that's what I heard it was called) or any other better then the other. I really want clear sandy bottom, will I be looking at sea weeds and/or needing wet shoes here? This will be my first time and I'm trying to compare it to Grand Cayman

  5. If we go on Enchantment where we don't get in until noon, we stay on the ship. If we go on Majesty where we are there at 8 am, then we typically get off.

My problem has always been the same with Nassau - unlike other islands it is RULED by resorts that want to charge you crazy amounts of money to spend time on the beach. We finally found JYAH at Junkanoo and he has done a great job on his section of Junkanoo and so now we walk there and spend the day. Cabbage over on Paradise is way too rough and no amenities. Junkanoo has clean bathrooms and lots of vendors for inexpensive food and drink.

We have been to Nassau more times than I care to count and there is really nothing there that draws us anymore. So Junkanoo is where we go as I refuse to pay a resort outrageous amounts of money just to sit on their loungers and enjoy the beach.

This September will be our first time at this port and would like a beach that is clean and clear water, without seaweeds or rocky....does this exist is Nassua? What would u suggest? I see people post that Jumkanoo has dirty water and trash on beach. I have no clue, I just want crystal clear water...thanks

  6. I can only tell u from my experience 3 weeks ago, there was no push cart/kiosk it was served at bar like counter, bar was near with fancier cocktails and it was fabulous... I have however seen this "pushcart" thing that people are referring to about 6 yrs ago on the Fantasy it was a cart that served sushi (but still loved this and miss) having said this prior, the taste bar is along the lines of tapas, social, classy and nothing like a "sample cart at Walmart" lol I actually LOVE this, I have tried things here that were comparable to a fancy dining appetizer... Maybe some don't understand that logic. I'm from New Orleans and we have awesome food and the taste bar is something I look forward to daily... I was on the Dream if that matters

  7. Beachcomber: rum (coconut or regular), triple sec, lime juice and cherry juice

Or some may put orange juice to substitute the trip sec. That's what I know as a bartender, but over years of bar tending people tend to change the recipes. But main ingredients are rum, lime, and cherry juice, u can add simple syrup (sugar water) makes it too sweet for me. :D

  8. She sounds like me lol. If ya don't mind me asking, how much was the grand suite upgrade... We have to pay 520.00 more for our balcony on the 7 day cruise on the dream, but we haven't ever had a balcony and I'm getting the aft extended and because of my promotion it allows me to have any floor and almost any balcony so I figure if I were to pay that on a regular booking it would cost over 2,500.00 .... So I'm gonna suck it up one last time for a year haha before cruising again... As crazy as this sounds I hope the casino doesn't offer another freebie lol

  9. We just got off free cruise June/July and was told the same but I had a free drink card, I think because I had over 5,000 points prior cruise, my husband and I both just checked for the heck of it and he got 50.00 and I play a hell of a lot more then he does..but maybe because I got drink card..which I was satisfied with...however we did each get a free bottle of wine, a tray of cookies to our room and another free cruise!! But now I wanna upgrade to a balcony and it's gonna be 560.00 extra plus taxes total of 720.00. He also has a free room... Now what lol. We have to sail before September we are gonna go broke and they will not upgrade on just one person a room it's a double occupancy... What to do?? Need to decide by next week. I wish I had lots of $$$ to take both and upgrade

  10. I have a free cruise compliments of the casino and have heard lots about the cove balcony, but considering I won't have to pay additional fees for the higher levels I'm thinking I should take advantage of this...any suggestions...considering upper deck (6) aft back, or panorama (11)... The higher the level the higher the price...but again I'm not paying this trip :)

  11. Currently on the Conquest and received free drinks and $100 when I boarded. Have since also had chocolate covered strawberries delivered and was given dinner for 2 in the steakhouse. Can't wait to see what's next. I'm on this cruise courtesy of the casino from my last cruise on the Sunshine.

That is great news!! I am cruising June on my 2nd free cruise courtesy of the casino, have read different things regarding the free cruise, cash and perks all at one time. I'm hoping that I get my free drinks, casino cash, and goodies just like before in addition to the cruise, wow sounds like a deal!!! Pretty much sounds like you are getting this now.

Did you happen to call them before you left to confirm or did they send you a package via mail ?

  12. I will be cruising June 2014 and will let you know how my situation turns out...I have a free cruise..and was told I would also receive casino cash (500.00) in addition...finding this too good to be true. I can tell you that I was on a cruise just last month, same ship (dream) free drink card in my room when I arrived, 500.00 casino cash and a gift in my room everyday (wine, strawberries, cookies, etc) last day free cruise which I'm taking June.

This is my 2nd free cruise in a year

  13. I was on the triumph in January 2011. I called the players club about six weeks before I went to see what they could do for me (I had been on the spirit twice in 2010) When I checked in I got free strawberries and the next day a fruit basket. I also got a bottle of wine the first night for dinner. and a coupon for a free photo too

In addition they emailed me a coupon for $250 in casino chips to take with me. you cash it in when you get there and they somehow connect your room key to your players club account number for the rest of the trip.

Last week in the mail came a coupon from Carnival's Player Club for $500 of cash if I want to go to a cruise out of New York this fall... at a balcony rate of less than $750. Too bad I live on the west coast or I would take advantage of it. so to answer your questions, yes, this was my third carnival cruise in less than 13 months and they did me well. But call ahead of time and give them your players number.

as to the free beverages in the casino, they dont give those anymore even to player club members who play the max on the machines but if you make friends with the casino host on duty "that person" does have some discretion to buy you coffee or soda... but not booze

but an even better deal came today from NCL via Harrah's. If you have a diamond account (or higher) with them they are giving away free balcony trips to the mediterrean this fall so I will probably do that trip this fall

I cruised twice 2013 and April 2014 and received free drinks. CCL
