  1. I'm looking at the Lobster Bake in the park, but DW is not interested. She might be interested in the bike ride in the park. It seems to be a good way to see the park as it says the guide makes frequent stops .She thinks this sound better than riding a bus through the park. However, it says strenuous, and she wonders how strenuous it really is. BTW, she is the one who said when she saw Bar Harbor as a port that she wanted to visit Acadia National Park.

Has anyone done this bike ride? If so, would you recommend it? BTW, she is in her low 60s, and in reasonably good shape. She does long walks to keep in shape.

I will also post this in the New England/ Canadian forum.

We were on a cruise and went to Acadia this past October. Many years ago I did the bus tour. This time we hired a biologist to take us around for a private tour with walking around at many places within the park. Funny thing happened in that biologist had to go on a field study and got an off-duty park ranger as his replacement. We had a wonderful day. Just an option if the bike ride is too much for your wife.

  2. I will throw in two cents about the ships. I have been on 24 cruises since 2000 on Carnival, Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess, and Royal Caribbean. Celebrity is my favorite cruise line as the service and onboard activities seem better to me. The Celebrity Solstice is one of my favorite ships. Been on her many times to Alaska. I have to say though that I am doing a transpacific cruise on RCCL next spring since the timing was best for us.

  3. I have the Verizon International Pass, but have not used it yet. I am going to go on an 8 week trip, including a 23 day cruise. I used the trip planner on the Verizon website. It asks for all the countries visited and any cruise ships. It said that half my trip was covered by the plan and the RCL ship and half the ports were not. Like the other person said they charge extra for everything in those places. I believe calling was $2.99/minute.

My husband and I always used our Diamond level days. And yes you can use your own devices.

That did not use to be the case.
