Since we will be doing the canal cruise from LA to Miami in January, I am very interested in how the debarkation phase of your cruise goes in Miami.
Especially, how the 4 computers manage with the printing of airline tickets during the last 24 hours and the amount of time it takes to actually leave the ship. If it becomes a hassle, I am seriously considering bringing my portable printer to print my own without standing in a long line.
Have been following all the messages and your trip sounds delightful. Can't wait til it's our turn. Best to all.

We hope you are delighted with suite 816...we'll be in it for the 25th Anniversary Cruise in April. Please post something, especially about the verandah which (on the deck plans) appears to benefit from being at the transition to the wider verandahs astern of it.
Zqueeze1/Portolan,
Hope everyone will be satisfied with suite 816. We have it reserved for the LA to Miami canal cruise. Any helpful hints will be appreciated. Enjoy.

We have a group of 8 staying at The Hyatt Regency (Long Beach) 5.1 Miles from Cruise Port $229.00 per night. Will probably hire a large van to transport us to the ship.

Really looking forward to our Panama Canal cruise from LA to Miami in January. I am curious if you anticipate dropping Acapulco from the itinerary due to the rampart crime? If so, what other stop might be added?

We have friends who have had a time share there for many years and they love it. Lots to do and very safe.

They have cancelled our call to Acapulco Captain informed us last evening and said it was deemed unsafe.
Sorry that you are losing a port, but that is better than someone getting hurt or killed. Glad to see that Regent is aware of the issues and has been proactive.Feel much better about cruising with them.

Another big gun battle between police and drug cartels in and around downtown Acapulco on Sunday night.

Jim B:
Thanks for the comments about Miami airport. We are doing the next January Panama Canal trip from LA to Miami on Explorer. I had been debating whether to try for the noon flight out or wait til after one PM. I think now that the one o'clock flight makes more sense. Have heard horror stories about passengers from large ships all descending on the airport at once. Hate the stress of airports after a relaxing cruise!
How difficult is it to get a reservation with an F1 suite?
