My family and I (2 adults, 1 teen) are considering a cruise to Alaska next June/July. Our budget allows for an ocean view. I've noticed that there is a jump in price from cats 9B, C, and D to cat 9A. My husband is concerned that decks 1 or 2 might be too rocky. Can anyone share their experiences staying in staterooms on decks 1 or 2 to Alaska? Thanks in advance.

We took an 11:30AM flight after our cruise last summer. Disney hustled us right off the ship. We got to the airport with no issues and ended up flying out later than expected due to weather. I agree that later is better - even if you have to hang around.

Yes, he will definitely be wearing dress shoes to both brunches. Thanks for the tip. :)

Good to know! Thanks so much.

Thanks! Just came across this on the Disney website for Remy:
http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/dream/dining/remy/
Brunch Dress Code
During brunch and dessert, the following dress code is enforced:
• Men: Dress pants and a shirt are required for men. A jacket is optional. Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes.
• Ladies: A dress or pantsuit is required. Please no jeans, shorts, capri pants, sandals, flip-flops or tennis shoes.
Looking forward to both brunches!

My husband and I are excited to have brunch at both Palo and Remy. For Palo, I am planning to wear a casual dress with a nice pair of sandals (not flip flops) and my husband is planning to wear a dress shirt (no tie) with dress pants. For Remy, I am planning to wear a dressier dress and he is planning to include a tie, but no jacket. Is this acceptable, or should we dress up more? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the great suggestions, everyone. :)

My family of three - mom, dad, and teen (15) - will be sailing on the Fantasy, with stops in Cozumel, Grand Cayman, and Jamaica. For those who have cruised to these ports before, what were some of your favorite excursions? We are open to any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance for your input.

Thanks for the great info! We are not planning to order much from room service. Just wanted to have an idea as to how much to tip and how it worked.
-
For room service, can I just add tips to my account or do I need to tip in cash? Also, are you given a "bill"? I want to make sure that I tip appropriately for what I order. Thanks.

I emailed and called. Today I received a message that all free tickets are gone for 2014. Requests for 2015 can be made starting on July 1. We are going to hit the beach instead.

Thanks for all of the great tips, everyone! I am also waiting to hear on free tix from my congresswoman for the Space Center. If we don't get them, we will likely hit the beach instead. So excited for our trip!!!

Thanks. I figured it would be a stretch, and she would much rather go on the teen excursion. I like to walk, and do so at a good pace, so hopefully I can walk the race. Looks like a lot of fun!

My daughter (14) and I are both interested in participating in the Castaway Cay 5k. She is planning to run and I would like to walk. Is walking allowed as long as you do so at a brisk pace? Also, what time does the race usually start? My daughter is signed up for the teen adventure which starts at 9:30. Is there enough time for her to finish the race and get to the excursion on time? Thanks in advance.

I signed her up when I reserved the cruise. She is very excited. Thanks.

Thanks for the review. I have signed up my daughter. This excursion looks like a lot of fun.

My daughter is interested in the Wild Side Teen Adventure on Castaway Cay. Can anyone provide feedback on it? Thanks.

Thanks for another snorkeling tip! The last time my husband and I snorkeled was on our honeymoon years ago and we are excited to do it again with our daughter. I am planning to do most of my shopping in Nassau. I am not planning to buy much on Castaway Cay, probably just a pin to add to my collection.

Thanks for more great tips! The last time my daughter had her hair braided was at a WDW resort. The lady did a great job. I will definitely check out the snorkeling suggestion, too. As for shopping, I have heard mixed reviews about the Straw Market. Haggling isn't really my thing. Knowingly husband, he will want to check it out. :D

Thanks for the tips! OT: Is pin trading done on the ship / Castaway Cay?

My family and I will be cruising to Nassau on the Disney Dream in June. We are considering doing one of the Disney snorkeling excursions, but may opt to explore on our own instead. Here's what is on our wish list to see/do in Nassau:
1. Shop for souvenirs (daughter and me) and rum (hubby)
2. Go to a beach (me)
3. "Get my hair braided" (daughter)
All insight is welcomed and appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Looks great! Thanks for the recommendation.

Thanks! I will check into that hotel too. Any recommendations for restaurants in the Cocoa Beach area?

Disney told me that 12:30 was the earliest recommended flight time and other people have said 3pm. My concern about the rental car is getting tied up at the dock waiting for a shuttle or at the car rental place. Of course, Disney could keep me waiting too.
Thanks again!
