  1. Thanks for the link for the Smart IQ. It looks great! I definitely don't want to take something that could be dangerous to the ship, even though it might not get confiscated

I have taken that exact one and never been confiscated. However, I found a smaller one with Smart IQ, more USB ports, but no 120V. It charges very fast so frees up the 120V plugs for other stuff. Since most stuff we plug in is USB that's the most important part.

  2. I have not cruised for going on 2 years and I keep seeing the the extension cord policy has changed. But I am still confused as to what is ok to take onboard. I do not want to spend cruise time going to the naughty room! :)

Will this be ok to take? If not, what is ok?

    Thanks

  3. I was just completing my online check in for my Dec cruise on the Harmony and there is a section titled Arrival Appointment Time. It tells me to:

Choose a Smart Check-In time that works best for you. Consider any extra time you will need to accommodate travel arrangements made on the day of the sailing, including transit in taxis, airport shuttles, etc.

The earliest time available to choose was 12:30-1:00pm.

My question is- Do I have to wait until 12:30 to arrive? Or if I arrive earlier, will they let us in and get on?

We have sailed out of Fort Lauderdale and on other Oasis class ships and have not seen this before. We have to be checked out of the hotel at 11am so I am trying to figure out what our game plan will be.

  4. We have been to Red Stripe Beach twice and have loved it both times. It is a short 10-15 minute drive to get there. They have chairs to rent, bathroom facilities, food to purchase and souvenirs stuff as well. The beach and water are beautiful and the people who work there are very friendly as well. You can then take a shuttle back to the port any time. it runs every about 30 minutes. We plan to return for the third time this December.

  5. Anybody know of a Catamaran trip in San Juan. We are looking for a boat that has a bathroom and the nets on the front of the ship that you can sit on. We did Calabaza boat tour in Barbados and LOVED IT! We are looking to find something similiar.

  6. Anybody know of a Catamaran trip in St. Thomas. We are looking for a boat that has a bathroom and the nets on the front of the ship that you can sit on. We did Calabaza boat tour in Barbados and LOVED IT! We are looking to find something similiar.

  7. We were on that sailing and we received a $25 OBC per person for the delay (they said it was to compensate lunch). They had buses to take people to a shopping and food plaza that afternoon (we did not do that, we just waited in the terminal, but heard from others that they had a hard time getting back from the plaza). Also, we were told we would board between 4 and 6 and it was almost after 5 when they started boarding and it was a slow process. Sorry you have to go through it- it is a bummer on the short cruises to have a delay. You might get more money since dinner will be affected for you as well, especially since they will have to do the muster drill at some point also.

Did they say what the reason was for the delay?

  8. We always make reservations though the cruise planner. We set the time to 6pm for every night since we have a toddler. Once on board it's one less thing we have to worry about. There's never a wait if you have reservations. Oh and we got the same table and waiters for all 7 nights

If I make reservations and then we do not make it at that time for some reason, what happens, can we just show up later?

I want to have freedom to eat when we want, but do not want to have to wait for 40 minutes either.

  9. You are not required to make reservations.

You may or may not get the same waiters.

Most people report little or no wait time, but it could be different on your cruise.

    Thanks for this info.

If no times are showing up to reserve at 7online, can we still show up at that time and get a table?

  10. I just got set with My Time Dining on the Adventure of the Sea next week. I have never had my time dining before, so I have a couple questions.

    1. Do I need to make reservations? I looked on the cruise planner to do it, but there are no times around 7pm which is when we were hoping for.

2 If you can just show up, what would the wait time be like?

3 do you get the same waiters and table each night with my time?

    Appreciate any help or advice.

  11. You can carry 2 750mL bottles of wine per cabin and you can take them to any bar or the dining rooms and there is no longer a corkage fee! They are more than happy to open them and pour them for you. They even gave me a clean glass to take with me after dinner since I told them I wanted to take the bottle with me to enjoy later.

  12. On the Oasis we waited to the stand by line three times because the first 2 night we did not get in even though we were about 10th in line. The third night we did. We were trying to get in the earlier shows since our daughter was in kids club and we could not do the late night shows!

  13. Thanks, I hadn't thought about requesting late check out but, I am going to do that now.

I just got off the phone with RCL and they said nothing is set in stone yet but once we board there would be a letter in the stateroom addressing how they plan to compensate cruisers. The agent on the phone said her's was delayed once and they were offered 75 dollars onboard credit but, it all depends on what RCL decides to do so, I guess the delayed boarding is set in stone and now we just wait to see if Royal makes it right because missing almost a whole day on a 3 day cruise is a bit of a downer but, I plan to make the best of it with my family.

Thanks for this info. Did they say what time the ship would leave port? I am wondering what it will do to the dinner times if boarding goes to 6pm, they have to do a muster drill and first dinner is at 6:30.
