    Hi

Unfortunately we have had a couple of cruises cancelled 1st April and 13th May, due to health reasons it is most unlikely we will be able to have another cruise, we are therefore opting for cash refund, we booked via a large UK Cruise travel agent and it seems as though no body wants to speak to us we have been on a list for a call back for several weeks have any of my fellow UK cruisers had any problems with their UK Travel agents? any tips on how to get them to speak to us?

if you paid by credit card speak to them and see what joy you get.  We have just had our June cruise cancelled, also booked through an agent. If we don’t find the agent playing ball we will definitely be looking to our credit card company to reimburse us. We in the U.K are covered by Atol and as such should, under the agreement, be given a refund by 14 days after the trip is cancelled. But these are not normal times and as such Atol are saying refunds may take up to 90 days to be received. Good luck.

  2. Hi Helen

As a Brit you don't need a visa before 30 June 2018. As a fellow Brit I checked this information a couple of weeks ago.

    https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/vietnam/entry-requirements

It also says if your entering Vietnam more then once in a short period of time to consider apply for a multiple entry visa.

We emailed the Vietnamese embassy to try and clarify, they advised us that if we went through passport control at each port we would need a multiple entry visa. We then rang NCL who confirmed we would go through passport control at each port. The cost is £89 each visa plus £12 postage charge for two visas.

  3. We found the space ok, what I found awful was how dark the cabin was even with every light on. I had to practically open the right hand glass wardrobe door as wide as it would go to try and get some of the light from the toilet or sit on the toilet to do make up as the the light in there was slightly brighter.

  4. Just need to know if it's sucralose (Splenda) or aspartame (Equal) and not saccharin (Sweet'N Low).

Don't think it was sweet and low because that usually gives me a headache. Pretty sure it was equal. Best thing it to take your own that is what I usually do.

  5. I've cruised other main stream lines in Europe during both July and August and did not find anything like you described with children :eek:. I do believe MSC has more children on-board due to their very generous kids sail free program.

That's is probably what it was. Good on MSC for offering such generous deals for families though. Like I said it was only a small aspect of our cruise the rest was fine.

  6. There will be a lot of families in August so the pools will be busy. We noticed on our recent cruise that there wasn't a lot of parental supervision and the pool attendants had to work hard to control the numerous children misbehaving in both the pools and hot tubs.

We are from the UK and our schools don't break up from school till the end of July so we wasn't aware the rest of Europe break up early July. It would put me going of going from July till end of August again because of this. Our kids are now grown up and whilst I love children I do expect to be able to use the pools and hot tubs without children jumping on my head and being an absolute nuisance. We really enjoyed our cruise apart from this, we weren't the only people to moan, there was plenty of Americans and Australian as well as Brits who also said the same. You live and learn it wouldn't put me off doing another MSC cruise because I bet all cruise lines in Europe probably have the same problem this time of year. but I would definitely not go again in school holidays.

  7. It comes up here because MSC has in their USA literature specifically stating no heat generating devices. I think it's just another example of a language barrier at play.

Thanks for the tips on Keretin! I'm going to ask my stylist :).

In the uk it actually shows pictures of straighteners and hair dryers as well as numerous other items which are not allowed on the actual luggage labels they send you. I took mine and didn't have a problem taking them abroad.
