  1. I will be going on my first Royal Caribbean cruise February 2017. Our ports are Coco Cay and Nassau. I will be traveling with my scooter. I have been to Nassau before, but I was in my manual chair. Can my scooter go on tender in Coco Cay?

I cannot edit my thread title. It should be Any Suggestions or Information I Need to Know?

  2. Coco Cay - Yes the tender RCCL used for Coco Cay has roll-on capabilities. However as always whether you're allowed to go onto the tender using your scooter is at the total descretion of the Captain depending on weather and or sea conditions. FYI many times throughout the year RCCL has to miss Coca Cay all together because of sea conditions and unable to anchor the ship and transport people safely.

Nassau - It's not the most scooter friendly but can be done. Very crowded and lots of traffic. Very few curb cut-outs so be very carefull.

    Thank you

  3. This will be the first time that we have cruised with DH using a scooter. I have heard conflicting stories ... will he or will he not be able to take his scooter on the tender to Grand Cayman?

I was on the Carnival Paradise in February. The seas were rocky and the way we disembarked you had to go up stairs on the tender getting to the island. And going back to ship you had to go down. My friends carried me and my scooter. It was a tad frightening.

Next time I visit GC if I'm still using a chair I will enjoy a relaxing day on deck.

I met a gentleman who walked the steps and they disassembled his chair and carried it. Warning the pole that attached the chair to scooter base fell in the water. He waited over an hour for a diver to come retrieve his pole.

  4. I've heard this same conversation in another thread. You would think the opposite too I guess...

A lanyard may be a sure sign of an experienced cruiser.

It only truly takes one cruise of having to deal with the "non-lanyard" way of life.

Digging, fumbling, losing it. Aye Aye aye!! If I had to ask my hubby to get my card out every time I needed it, I would surely drive him to jump ship.

I like the quote up a few posts....the one about how much other people ARENT thinking about you and what your lanyard means to them...hahaha!!

I loved the lanyard on 2nd cruise

  5. Do you ladies mind if I join in on this?

We were doing 'The Biggest Loser' at work but everyone gave up, and I find having a group to answer to, so to speak, helps me! We just booked another cruise for this summer and I really need to get some of this weight off!

Welcome aboard!!! It helps to know you're not alone. Belle and everyone is encouraging to all of us!!!

    Jan we miss you!!!
