  1. We are finalizing our booking onboard Equinox but because of the hurricane, I can't speak with my cruise sales person. we have been offered 2 of 4 perks.  The easy one is $300.00 on board ship credit.

Here are our questions on the other three choices:

If we take the Classic drink package as one of our two perks, may we upgrade it for $$ to premium?

What does a 7 day internet package with the fastest service cost?

What are the daily gratuities for Veranda stateroom?

According to the PCL website, the Emerald had her last refurb in December 2015. Does anyone know the extent of the work that will take place during the March 2019 drydock?

I’m curious in part because we will be on her the following February for the 28 day South Pacific round-trip.

I was wondering about the beds.  Anyone know if they have upgraded the mattress to the new Princess bedding?

  3. Glad to know about Transderm Scope patches. I always take them with me but only use them if we encounter rough seas. Lucky for me I have only ever felt "sea sick" three times so having something in my kit gives me a sense of security. I will be looking into the generic brand announced by Perrigo Pharmaceutical.

  4. We are on the Grandeur right now. They told us it will go into dry dock in the Bahamas around the 25th of April until the middle of May. They will be updating some of the mechanical stuff, putting in faster wifi, replacing carpeting and other cosmetic items.

Thanks for the info. We sail on 6-1-17. How are the mattresses?

  5. Caribbean Princess is the one and only "Caribbean" Class ship Princess had built. It bridges the "Grand Class" and "Crown" Class - Crown, Emerald and Ruby".

I found this on Wikipedia. "The design for the Caribbean Princess derives directly from the original Grand class ships, with none of the Gem class innovations being used. The Caribbean Princess uses the original Grand class design, but with an additional deck. This additional deck ('Riviera') increases the ship's passenger capacity from 2,600 to 3,100. Caribbean Princess has also added 'Cafe Caribe', a buffet-style restaurant aft of Horizon Court which offers Caribbean themed food, in a slightly more upscale environment."

  6. I took advantage of the Leap Year $1.00 deposit without checking in with Cruise Critics. Have I made a mistake? We were on the Regal last October and loved it but we missed the Grand Class. I didn't realize that the Caribbean Princess was a "bridge" class. Let me know your opinion of this ship. We loved the itinerary but now we are "second guessing". Thanks

  7. We are also booked for the 10-24-15 Regal cruise from Brooklyn. It is less than 13 weeks before we go. When we cruise we always book a port side cabin. Just a habit we got into. In this case we are mid-ship, port side Baja and that puts us under the Sea View Bar. That was the better choice because I was afraid if we were beneath the Sea Walk, folks could look into our cabin. No matter however as we got the cabin we wanted.

We are remaining on board and will to our first B2B. Just another way to stretch out our vacation. See you on board!

  8. Thanks to all who answered my question about the Regal's buffet. I am a waffle fan and have had them make me a HOT one too. I was hoping that they would have added an Eggs Benedict choice to the egg station. Celebrity has one and it was my go-to when not in the mood for a waffle.

Scott, I should have phrased my statement about the specialty restaurants that we have yet to have been disappointed there. Hope that remains true on our next sailing in October.

  9. We love sailing on Princess and for the most part the fool in the MDR is very good. Of course menu and service in either specialty restaurant never disappoints. There has only been one food disappointment and that is what is served in the Horizon Court. Our next cruise is on the Regal and I have heard that Princess has enlarged the area and have made it easier to use. BUT THE BIG QUESTION is have they changed their variety of food choices? Food Stations, Please let me know what you found in the Horizon Court. that improves what we have experienced on the Grand Class and PanaMax ships.

  10. I've sent an email to Linda (whose cabin that was in the pictures), so hopefully she'll chime in over the next couple of days.

I do see that there is an outlet at the desk, which would place the scooter near the non-sliding balcony door. This way you could temporarily relocate the desk chair out of the way somewhere, and the scooter should fit nicely parallel to the desk itself.

    :D

Thank you again for your assistance. We almost gave up our "girls gone wild" cruises because of our Mother's mobility issues.i will check back frequently to see what you find out from your friend[emoji365]

  11. As a long time Princess cruiser, I have have frequented all of the main specialty restaurants on board. This is the first time we will be sailing on the Regal and was interested what the charges are for the seafood restaurant/bar, Gelato's and any other "fee for service" options they might be offering on this new class of ship. Any prices and reviews would be wonderful. I would also like to know if there are any MDR menu threads on the board.

  12. THANK YOU SOO MUCH!!!! These photos tell us all we wanted to know. Our Cabin is B432

on the Regal and I know that we have an enlarged balcony. The cabin looks like it can store Mother's Scootaround without any issues. Do you know if there is an outlet there where we can charge it at night? Our last trip, on the Grand, was in a mini regular cabin and our steward would take the buggy away at night, charge it, then return it in the morning.

  13. I just booked a B2B on the Regal Princess for my Mother, my sister, and me. Mother is in her mid 80's and has mobility issues along with needing a sit in the shower. By booking early( Departing NYC on 10-24-15 and Eastern Caribbean 11-3-15 we were able to get a Mini on Baja deck. I would like to have any feedback about the cabin and how it will effect our Mother. The last cruise we went on together was a 14 day Hawaii from SFO and only had the std mini. Any information would be greatly appreciated. We will be traveling with a wheel chair and are going to rent a "Scoot Around' so Mother can have independent mobility.

  14. What about the size of the balcony? I understand that it is much smaller than on the Grand Class.

We just booked a B2B on Regal and I was worried about the skywalk folks looking into my cabin if we were on the starboard side. I had to chance from R433 to B432. Creepy that they didn't think of that fact when they designed the new builds. I also

  15. We are working on our next cruise and really want to experience the new class of Royal or Regal. From what I can see, I can't seem to find the aft pool on the new ships. Have they been removed in favor of more cabins? Please let me know if my favorite spot on the vessel is gone.
